Navigation Upgrade

This card was revealed today: Navigation Upgrade

"-> 1 strain: Place this card in your play area.
Exhaust this card during a friendly droid 's activation. That figure gains 1 movement point"

When does this card ready? RRG says:

"Deployment cards, Imperial Class cards, and activation tokens a re readied during the Status Phase of each round."

But this is not a deployment card. I'd still expect it to ready in the status phase, but just wanted to make sure.

Technically companion cards are not deployment cards, but they also ready at the ready step of the status phase.

So, I would ready all exhausted cards (for campaign: which are not item or class cards of heroes) at the ready step of the status phase.

Both the companions in skirmish have (relatively) well defined rules for when they ready or activate though. Indentured Jester says crumb activates before or after the activation of whoever has it attached and doesn't say anything about readying or exhausting his companion card. The Junk droid readies at the start of each ugnaught activation. So I don't think either companion actually readies in the status phase.

An exhausted figure cannot activate. Indentured Jester says when Crumb can activate, the companion card still needs to be ready.

Think of Son of Skywalker and Crumb being attached to Luke.

Interesting, so if you use son of skywalker you can't activate crumb? I never thought of that.

Son of Skywalker and Debts Repaid only ready the deployment cards, not any skirmish upgrade attachments and more generally no other cards.

I'm betting that the pack will come with a rules clarification - up until now we haven't had any of these command-cards-that-exhaust, but we've seen a few spoiled already in the new wave.
