Objective Combos

By Ginkapo, in Star Wars: Armada

An almost combo:

Fleet Ambush and Salvage Run

Both encourage a fast and bloody fight. Thats something that can be built around quite effectively. Sadly I fail to see a Red objective that fits with this. Potentially Precision Strike , but it feels somewhat weak in comparison.

Any ideas on how to bring this combo back? Fleet Ambush was all the rage till we realised it was volatile.

I have a JJ VSD Carriers list with BCCs and go with Precision Strike, Fighter Ambush and Superior Positions. My squadron wing: Rhymer, Maarek, Tempest, defenderx3, bombersx4

What is this list, I try to make Jeery works, but I still had no success with him

You should see my vics flying around a liberty with Madine.

The funniest was that as my ships are medium I escaped from its front arc but it couldn't do the same :D

Jerry lets you spam something other than navigate whilst still maneuvering like a king.

Vic's doing handbrake turns whilst fulfilling all their carrier duties.

ISD's going full facewrecking speed at the enemy whilst repairing hard, unavoidably getting front arc shot after front arc shot.

Not so useful with Gladiators, Raiders or Gozanti which really dont need much help maneuvering and the first two often are quite happy using nav dials.

The key to that objective is not the boost, its the scoring conditions.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people forget that objective has special scoring...

Scoring was considered. 4 neb b's and a big squad wing stand to gain way more than lose via the scoring rules than an fleet with large/medium base or with a small compliment. Actually, it frees you up from feeling pressure to take down the isd knowing that you can run from it all game, hopefully denying it a great shot, and pew it once with luke for points equal to one of your own bases.

This frees up nasty nebulon long range arcs to fire on smaller ships. If you can manage an accuracy to nix the evade or brace, you have a very decent shot of removing a juicy target in one activation with an opening salvo salvation. Neuter an ISD, eliminate demo, against most fleets that means you can move to a large margin win relatively quickly instead of letting it run into a slugfest where the nebs become more exposed.

Again, not to excuse its flaws, because they are there, i am just saying that without a flottilla for most wanted it is an option you could leverage with a certain approach. And because sometimes people do forget the scoring conditions, it might be a sleeper that an opponent hasnt practiced. Still, if you end up accross the table from a trc90 mothma msu your gonna have a bad time.

Very logical Broba. However, a NebB has an ok turning circle but it will be given a choice, face the isd or show a side to the isd. Only one answer to that..
