New Player: Empire Build

By player2450481, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hello everyone,

I am really new to Star Wars Armada. I have been playing mainly Rebels, but I have decided to switch to the Empire.

I currently have:

1X Interdictor

1X Gladiator

1X VSD

1X Fighter Squadron I pack

1X Fighter Squadron II pack

1X Rouges and Villans

Am I able to create a competitive list with these squadrons and ships? Or, should I just stick with playing as the Rebels?

Also, if there are any tactic/suggestions they will be greatly appreciated.

Do you have the TIES from the starter set as well? Those would really help, but I think you could scrounge something together.

Perhaps a Konstantin list, the VSD and Interdiction paired up with Demolished GSD and a strong fighter presence. I would certainly ly put eyes on a Gozanti Cruiser expansion, or perhaps Imperial Light Cruiser to round the list out.

Right now the VSD is pretty maligned, and the Interdictor is niche and thats 2/3 ships you have. I would have to say that if you want to play casually, throwing a VSD carrier, Demo, and Interdictor together with a big rhymerball is going to be fun and more than sufficient. If flown well it borders on competitive, but 3 activations just isnt cutting it, especially when the victory is slow and not maneuverable and the Interdictor doesn't have teeth.

If got an ISD and/or a gozanti you coukd make something very servicable however. You just need a few more key peices.

Something like:

ISD II (leading shots, gunnery team, xi7), glad I (demolisher, engine techs, assault proton torpedoes, ordnance experts), interdictor suppression (grav shift, target scramblers, interdictor, ion cannon batteries), gozanti carrier (motti, coms net), maalek stele, jendon, as many other bombers to 400.

Of course this is brain pointing the fleet, I may be over or under, but you see it ups activations thanks to the Gozanti puts 3 big threats combined with an interdictor geared to snag objectives and defend them.

Just my 2 cents on the matter.
