auto advanced

By cwh008, in X-Wing Squad Lists

so I am thinking of going with this. automatically 8 hits every round.

TIE Advanced: Storm Squadron Pilot (26)
Stealth Device (3)
TIE/x1 (0)
Accuracy Corrector (0)

TIE Advanced: Storm Squadron Pilot (26)
Stealth Device (3)
TIE/x1 (0)
Accuracy Corrector (0)

TIE Advanced: Tempest Squadron Pilot (24)
Stealth Device (3)
TIE/x1 (0)
Accuracy Corrector (0)

TIE Advanced: Tempest Squadron Pilot (24)
Stealth Device (3)
TIE/x1 (0)
Accuracy Corrector (0)

Total: 100/100

Shooting at what PS?

4 and 2

Why not switch the pilots out for 2s and add advanced targeting computer? Automatic crit and potential for 12 hits a round with 4 being crits? Three hits is harder to dodge than two.

Conceptually it sounds beast, having 4 tie advanced that is.

The issue with the suggestion of Advanced Targeting Computer is that you have a low PS, so won't get useful locks a lot of the time, you want the Accuracy Corrector because it is free and you can then take defensive actions.

I like the list as is, though I might be tempted to drop them all down to Tempests in order to fit a cluster missiles on one of them (iirc costs correctly). Should be fun either way though.

I had concidered that, but with alot of meta at ps2, I wanted to have a couple with ps4

It's a pain in the butt to take down with a lot of lists, but will very much struggle to kill a lot of lists, and even though it's a pain to take down, 4 dice with 1 evade really isn't a lot of green these days; they'll pop quicker than you think. People are specced to take out 3 defenders, taking out 4 of these is much, much easier.

Accuracy corrector on all your ships will barely push damage, if any, on a lot of lists too unfortunately.

It's a cool list I'd like to see in action though.

2 guaranteed hits is meaningless against some lists.

For example, TIE Defenders with X-7 title will laugh at you as your 2 hits are dodged constantly.

Having said that, your ships are not easy to kill, and at PS 2, you can block most TIE defenders (to deny them their free evade token).

What you really need is a way to push that damage through more meaningfully.

Tractor beam is this kind of list's BFF!

Vessery w/ VI, TIE/D & tractor beam = 37

3 tempests w/ X-1 & accuracy corrector = 21 x 3

100

You won't typically be able to get target locks on the very first turn of shooting (usually---you might pull it off against some opponents, especially if you can outsmart them in the opening). However, since your tempests don't need the locks, once you pick them up, you can leave them in place for Vessery to take advantage of. Once that happens, your damage should be impressive.

The biggest difficulty for this list will be the fact that Vessery is the obvious first target...

I did this a while back, was ok. Dmg output was consistent but lacked any real dmg as others have pointed out lol I like to just run vader with acc and juke. Focus/evade to tank up, only 2 hits on attack but Juke helps a lot with that
