I wish FFG would produce some skirmish maps that were simply the deck plans for large and epic ships. Then rolepayers could link them together for a ship boarding action. Players could do rescue missions, extractions, gather intel and do all kinds of things. Also you could put the map on top of a terrain map and it would add a lot. so the map would have to just be the shape of the ship. You could use Imperial Assault figures or the old WOC Star Wars miniatures.

How much do you think such a thing should cost? 8 bucks?
I'm pretty sure if you do some googling you'll be able to find deck plans for most of the large base ships from the 90s-era RPG. There are a LOT of them out there.
Yes you can. But I'd much rather pay a few dollars to have them on nice cardboard ready to go. I've been trying to do this for myself and have ran into many obstacles.
First is that not every ship has an excellent deck plan available. I can find most of them or at least something in the ballpark. But a lot of them don't have very good resolution so if I were to print it I don't think it'd look very nice.
Second printing many of the ships' deck plans would be expensive to do it right. The Millennium Falcon cannot be done on a standard sized home printer. I almost bought a large printer at stapes to go for it. But I couldn't justify the expense. Also I inquired about printing service they offer and it would have cost me over $16 for them to print it for me. If I did all my ships that would really add up. Also I would have only been able to give them the PDF and tell them the size I wanted I wouldn't have any way to fine tune it. (Oh that size isn't right? Too bad that'll be $17.95)
