The Dusty Nomads OOC

By Benjan Meruna, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Alright, I've given a bit of a guiding light for how your newfound captives are going to respond so you guys have an idea of what to expect.

And with that, I'm going to call this the end of the first "session." Congratulations! The Nomads won their first fight! Now to profit from it...

Experience: Everyone gets 5xp for fantastic roleplaying, and another 10xp for accomplishing the objective.

Let me know what you're taking, and remmeber to keep your character sheet up-to-date!

Everyone go ahead and roll a d100, by the by.

Well, well, well.

I'm going an Obligation roll a bit different than RAW, since we have over 100 Obligation combined. I'm going to say that whoever rolled the highest, triggers their obligation. Shard, I think it's gonna be you (unless Imperial gets a 100), so go ahead and roll a d100 again. 1-50 will be Bad Reputation, 51-100 will be Score to Settle.

Outta the frying pan and into the fire

Ooh. We all get the privilege of banking our xp since Ob is over 100 :( thanks all you greedy buggers!

You know what I'm ok with that... I think that's fitting.

Oh crap, well gotta work it down soon!!

Alright, Bad Reputation it is! Everyone, reduce your strain threshold by 1 except for Vic, he reduces his by 2.

P.s. I like the chemistry between Mel and Vic is allot of fun to play with! It's the noir feeling totally. Tough guy and the beautiful dame that's always underestimated. Great writing!

I'm good with being the femme fatale from a black and white :D And the obligation was worth it! :P

Whomp. Apparently Mel is feeling a little arrogant in the face of success.

@Benjan Meruna Are you saying that we can spend XP, despite how much obligation we have, or are we following the RAW in regards to that?

Yes, you can, mainly because the nature of a PbP means that the story will move slower than meeting in person. Rather than just force you guys to stockpile XP until you manage to bring Obligation down (and then have it spent in a frenzy) I'm content to just have it quiiiietly suck away at your strain threshold (doubled if you roll doubles!) for the moment. When you choose to devote some time and effort into reducing it, you can either make it a side-mission (to reduce it a little bit), a full-on focus (to reduce it a lot), or you can just throw money at the problem! :D Depending on the circumstances and Obligation, of course.

If I get the feeling that no one is trying to address their obligations (while having had fair opportunities to do so), I maaaay start upping the strain penalty. I'll let you know before I do it, however, so it's not out of the blue.

Here's my list

-5 XP: Well Rounded
-5 XP: Grit 1
-5 XP Knowledge (Lore) 1

Vic and Shishi the fury and hairless midgets probably want to do a little bit tracking down Vic's former partner... Shishi will be hunting for materials for his next "big project". I don't see Shishi's "Unfinished Project" going down without him dedicating serious time/credits to the build, time that others would use for their own personal benefit. Bassicly he needs to choose to miss out on something to get work done on his project. But not in a detrimental way to the others since that will only cause other Obligation

5xp on Speaks Binary

10xp on Mechanics 2

Yea after this Hutt job, might have enough confidence and loot to begin to think about revenge!

I have no idea how Mel would work on her obligation. Find spouses for all her exs?

I'm a bit new to the obligation system (I'm more familiar with the duty system from AoR) so does Obsession go down the less that a character focus' on that aspect of their lives, or does it go up, and vice versa?
