It seems inevitable now that we'll see Maul's ship from Rebels as a dual faction with pilot versions of Maul, Ezra and maybe another unique Mandalorian. Rebel/Scum with a 4 dice primary since Scum is currently lacking that.
Edited by pkreynoldsMaul/Ezra ship for X-Wing
Scum does not need a four-dice primary with an EPT.
It probably wouldn't have an EPT. Unless it had some other significant drawbacks like the Upilon's maneuver dial. Although I don't see this ship as having a terrible dial. Even though it's so big it's still a Mandolorian Starfighter.
i could see Maul having an EPT since...uh...hes not a random schmuk and is both a profound pilot and sith lord?
But i'd also see him being the same as Kylo: Yeah, he has an EPT, do you really wanna spend that many points on a ship that cant *insert flip move here* at all?
Rebels has told us again and again what a great pilot Hera Syndulla is, but they couldn't give her an EPT slot on the VCX for game balance reasons. Same thing would probably have to apply here. Balance >Lore.
The Ghost actually has some pretty brutal things it could do if it had an EPT, even if it was just Hera that had it. UPS is so restricted by its dial that its not worth investing enough points to get it.
I havnt watched the Rebels show so i have no idea how this thing flies but given that its even larger than the Ghost i'd be surprised if its super nimble. Then again, this is starwars where logic means nothing with its space friction, only rear facing thrustors, and lack of aerodynamics on planets.
Yeah, I'd be good with them knocking the Kom'rk fighter's damage down to three for a fighter's dial and EPTs for upper level pilots. According to Wookieepedia, it doesn't have any ordinance slots, so we just have to worry about crew slots for sure, with two making sense. Might have a systems slot or something, though. There is also a mention of aft guns, so it might have an auxiliary arc, though I kind of hope not, for the Firesprye's sake.
Considering we see Kom'rk use by Mandalorians who sided with the Empire, it could be the first ship available to all three factions.

In the season 3 finale, you see it flying pretty nimbly in space battles. More so than the Ghost, from what I remember.
I don't see them giving it to the Empire. Scum is here in order to have a place to put factions and pilots who have worked for the Empire in the past but aren't Imperials. They made that mistake once, with Boba Fett.

With Gar Saxon working for the Empire as an Imperial commando and still using Kom'rk fighters to get around, they might make him the only Imperial pilot for the expansion. Not sure thing, but the possibility is there.
I thought Maul was Old Teroch? No?
You could also slap a First Order pilot in there, the FO mole in Maz' castle in TFA flies a Gauntlet. This is because I assume early nucanon writers are in a rush to make up new stuff and thus have like a hat of "allowed" designs they can pull from rather than any sensible reason.
Personally, no reason why the gauntlet should be 4 dice It has two forward facing heavy laser cannons only. It's real interesting move is that it should have a rear arc, the model even has plainly visible rear cannons on it. It's also made with the same pivot wing technology as the Protectorate - it has a narrow profile and a lot of flexibility - but it's also a bit of a fragile seeming ship for it's size. If you can get around the scale problem physically the ship doesn't have to be an HP beast, it could be a ship with 2 AGI like the Lancer or Firespray and not go hog wild on the shields and Hull.

Nope. He was a Mandalorian pilot that FFG made up. I think the only other place he is mentioned is an FFG RPG source book. He apparently has Rebel sympathies.

Possible on adding another Imperial pilot, though that could be considered more like the Empire hiring Boba Fett than the Gar Saxon option.
Definitely agree on the Kom'rk not having a ton of health. Personal consideration for it have it with a 3 att, 2 agi, 6 hull, and 3 shields. Kind of wish it could have 3 agi, but that's probably too much for a ship of that size.

Was this one the Gauntlet?

Yes. It's a Kom'rk class Fighter/transport. Also referred to as a Gauntlet Fighter in some places. I think under Maul, it was named the Nightbrother.
Maul's specific ship is the Nightbrother (and it has a sweet red n' black paint job).
Kom'rk is the class name, which in Mando'a means "Gauntlet" so sometimes just the translated name is used.

In a game where a single "heavy laser cannon" upgrade is a 4 die attack...
edit: also, according to wookieepedia the upsilon shuttle has 2 heavy laser cannons and the ghost has a nose turret and a twin laser cannon, so 2 heavy laser cannons on the gauntlet would make perfect sense to have a 4 die attack
Edited by VanderLegionBalance and also variance in what makes a "heavy" cannon. I always imagined the hlc upgrade to be a stapled-on frigate cannon :-P
Plus, the accuracy of the guns probably also affect number of dice, not just firepower.

Like green dice not only show the manouverbility but also the size of the ship.
I really hope we don't get the Nightbrother in standard play at 1:270 scale. It's bigger than the ghost, a ship that I'm pretty sure caused the 3 to 4 month wave 8 delay by being too big for standard pegs and needing a special stupid trident peg thing.
Nightbrother for second Scum Epic, fine.

Also the connections between the fuselage and the wings are so thin they would nearly instantly snap and no way they would be ablento pivot.
...but that Gauntlet fighter is already in the game - it's the protectorate starfighter.
Please, FFG, don't put a third variation of the Scyk model into this game.

You know that it's roughly 5 times the length of the Fang, right?

I hope not. Imperials have "small and large" epics. Rebels have small&large as well. Scums will get "small" epic (CROC) so they should get a proper large epic ship, like Star Jewel, with multiple hardpoints and stuff. Not just some oversized starfighter.
