There are a few missions that state: "A door adjacent to a Rebel figure does not block his movement or line of sight."
Seems straight forward. Rebels can move through doors and shoot through doors. Question arose during our game when a Rebel used a melee weapon while adjacent to a door.
Was this allowed? Melee can attack _adjacent_ figures. The door was between the Rebel and his target. The mission rule (above) does not change the rule about doors negating adjacency when between two spaces. Melee weapon use requires adjacency, ranged weapons require LoS.
So, our question was whether to allow the melee attack. Rules, as written, would indicate "no".
If the melee weapon had Reach, this would require LoS and be allowed to attack a figure 2 spaces away, through the door, but we are still uncertain about how to rule on figures with a door on the shared edge.
Any insight (with references) would be appreciated.
