I was still hoping FFG would put out an Imperial-flavored RPG. Imps seem to get ignored for a lot of that stuff because everyone thinks they're the "bad guys".

Agreed. Even if it's not particularly juicy, it seems a good idea to hold more X-Wing stuff to capitalize on the general Star Wars excitement of the celebration.

Well, that, and a subtle indication that FFG knows their ship mechanics in the RPG are a bit screwy, at least if you want to play fighter jocks. You want to play militant space truckers they work great, though.
It's also funny but the rules are generally goofy for the same reasons people sometimes struggle in X-Wing, action economy and firing arcs vs turrets. On the other hand ordnance is ****ing amazing in EotE. Install Proton Torpedo Launchers in everything!
