Corran builds

By Raven19528, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I've got a Dash Corran list I'm wanting to put to the test. I have Dash right now like this: HLC, title, Kyle, PtL

I want to run Corran as wingman, but I don't have another PtL, plus that Dash comes to 54 points. I don't have any wave X stuff, but I have a decent collection of I-VIII.

Question is, what's a good Corran build to set up with Dash? I was thinking of VI Corran, possibly with BB-8, FCS and Engine.

Thoughts?

This is how I run Corran:

Corran Horn (50) - E-Wing
Lone Wolf (2), R2-D2 (4), Sensor Jammer (4), Flechette Torpedoes (2), Stealth Device (3)

Obviously you need to trim points to fit anything like that with your Dash build. Drop Flechette Torpedoes, change Sensor Jammer to Collision Detector. Unless I did my math wrong, that should put you at 98 points.

Hmm, a dodgy Corran rather than an arc dodging one. Seems interesting. What about LW, FCS, R7, Stealth? Also 98 points, and an interesting mechanic, plus makes him even more brutal in the end game.

Dash and Corran (100)

Corran Horn (46) - E-Wing
Marksmanship (3), R2-F2 (3), Fire Control System (2), Experimental Interface (3)

Dash Rendar (54) - YT-2400
Push The Limit (3), Heavy Laser Cannon (7), Rey (2), Outrider (5), Smuggling Compartment (0), Black Market Slicer Tools (1)

For Corran: On the rounds he can attack, target lock then use marksmanship. Keep focuses and reroll the blanks. Free target lock. Attack on end phase, repeat. On the rounds he can't attack, evade and/or R2 F2.

For Dash: Standard super dash, but with Rey for free focus, and smuggling compartment w/ black market slicer tools for options

Dash/HLC/Rey/title/LoneWolf 52 pts

Corran/PtL/FCS/Engine/R2D2 48 pts

I use the same Corran build but I've used;

Chewbacca: PTL, C3PO, Lando, MF (evade title) 52 points

Corran: PTL, FCS, EU, R2D2 48 points

it keeps Corran arc dodgey with potential regen as long as he doesn't get dogpiled and This Chewy build can ignore all kinds of damage albeit Lando isn't the most reliable upgrade in the world.

Liking the response, but I don't have HotR, so I can't fly Rey. Also don't have any extra cash ATM, so that's why I was trying to stick with something I could field. The only Wave IX ship I have is the TIE s/f, and that's the latest purchase I've made. If I had free access to anything and everything, I probably would have done exactly what Sixter suggested, but I just don't have the Rey to make that work.

Maybe just simply VI, FCS, and R2, and throw the Engine on Dash? Or I could try an EI/Expose Corran for grits and shins... Lol. 2 (5) dice attacks at r1 in a turn would be fantastic.

The last build with the VI/FCS/R2D2 and engine on dash is the good ol' 'super dash and corran' build.
It is fun to fly, and hits like a truck. Just be careful of your corran, as he dies quickly to focus fire!

This is definitely the best way to go. I've seen some people suggest R2-F2 but that is really a droid to avoid as he takes an action that you would be better off focus or evading on. Rolling 4 dice the would average 1.5 evades but with 3 dice and a focus you would average 1.875. At range 3 this becomes 1.875 with the droid and 2.5 with the focus.

Add to this you lose whatever effect you go for with the droid of choice and it really is not looking too good when for an extra point you can have R2-D2.

R2-F2 is a bit like Expose in that without the dice mods you don't really get much benefit from the extra dice (but I guess with R2-F2 if you are defending multiple times the benefit of the extra dice will add up but really by then you're just in a $hit load of trouble anyway as he really does not like focus fire)

Another option with Corran is to sacrifice hitting power and regen for ridiculously high defense on the turns that he can't shoot. I refer to it as turtling up.

Corran: PTL, FCS, R2-F2, stealth device

This still allows plenty of points for Dash in the Dash/Corran builds.

To be completely honest the amount of defensive tech is probably already overkill but you could also swap FCS for a sensor jammer to be even more ridiculous.
