Any app makers out there?

By Waywardpaladin, in Runewars Miniatures Game

So I was tossing those runes, you know, like you do, and one rolled under the kitchen island and most have fallen down a black hole or something because every search party last failed to find it.

Anyone out there thinking of making an app to generate rune results? :P

I guess there is yet another reason to buy 2 or more core sets!

Funny enough it looks like I lost the rune that is always 1 blue?

That's convenient!

I just can't find any images to confirm that such a rune exists. I just surmise that must be the one I lost by reviewing the Rune probability threads.

@Waywardpaladin look at the wiki, the rune facings should be there.

Also. Try a vacuum with the thin adapter if you have one see if that works.

I had a demo game at my FLGS. I'm not sure I'll put up with tossing those tokens for too long.

Thinking of making some custom d6s with 3 of each side on.

That's so funny to me because I think casting the punch board Runes is just fine. I guess I'm in the minority.

I've recently put mine in some coin capsules. Feels a lot better.

I could put a simulator on Tabletop Admiral if people would find that useful. I thought about making a "utilities" page anyway, with die faces, deployment cards, etc.

Been really short on time lately so there's other stuff I want to get to, but yeah.

I've actually been working on a very simple java program for that. I'm in Redmond for a business trip till friday, but once I get home I'll probably finish it quick.

That being said... when I say simple, I mean simple. I have exactly one semester of java knowledge :P

But if I get it done and no one has put one up yet I'll throw it out there.

I'm not sure why they didn't do dice based runes.. Not only they would be handy, but shaking dice is awesome!!

I can appreciate the thematic link to using tokens instead of dice for the runes. After a few games of having runs roll off the table when cast, I think that octagonal would have been better than circles. It keeps a regular shape to prevent favoring one side or the other when landing on an edge, but prevents them from rolling too far.

Runebound second edition has cardboard tokens instead of dice, and the designers seemed pretty excited about it. I'm guessing it was a hit with that crowd, so they figured it would work for this Terrinoth game, as well.

And to me, it works great. I like that there's a separation between dice for combat, and rune tokens for magic.

Yeah. Once we coin protectored our runes they feel much better. More substance to them.

I have that problem a lot too. I like to give them a good shake, and usually end up with at least one on the floor.
