Stygium Partical Accelerator, Collision Detector, and actions

By balindamood, in X-Wing Rules Questions

If I have a ship with collision detector that decloaks with SPA, and clips a rick with the template, does it:

A). Get the evade token, or is it like advanced SLAM, and

B). Does it get an action after it completes a maneuver without a second overlap, like adaptive aerluons?

A) Yes, it gets the evade token (more precisely: it can perform the free evade action). Unlike Advanced SLAM, the text on SPA does not say anything about overlapping.

B) Yes, it does. If the overlap is not a result of executing a maneuver, you do not have to skip the Perform Action step (see FAQ page 2).

"After a ship’s base or maneuver template overlaps an obstacle, and the overlap is not from executing a maneuver, it suffers an effect based on the type of obstacle:" - page 2 of the FAQ.

"If a ship is overlapping an obstacle at the start of its maneuver, it ignores that obstacle unless its maneuver template or final position overlaps that obstacle again." - page 14 of the Rules Reference.

Possibly from the decloak? It definitely would be ignored at the start of it's maneuver, but depending on the decloak ruling it might have already overlapped. Seems kind of janky.

Ignore what dookies just said, Free action are never prevented by Asteroid, and Debris prevent them because they give a stress and you can't do any action while stressed.

For the second part, you loose your action step only when the overlap occure during Your regular, wheel assigned maneuver, we already know that because of the Adaptative Aileron FAQ precedent.

Edit: For the rest, you still suffer regular obstacle effect, Collision Detection only let you perform Cloak, Boost or Barrel Roll trough Obstacle.

FAQ page 2 I mentioned doesn't say anything about losing an action.

Other than that I don't know if the stress would prevent it from doing an action because it doesn't say after you perform it. I assume it would.

Stress ALWAYS prevents you from performing actions. If you start a round with a stress token and have no means of getting rid of it, then you will not be performing ANY actions, free or otherwise.
