Just wanted to say that I am a VERY happy man today! Couldn't wait to pop it open. First off I just wanted to ask if there were any requests on info. I know that most everything is already out there but if I can help I will. Secondly, I wanted to assure everyone that my bases and trays are immaculate. That was a concern of mine as I saw people saying how theirs were not so flat so it kind of scared me a bit. Third, I've already been talking to a lot of people in my area but if there is anyone on here in the Birmingham, AL area looking for a demo before you buy then hit me up. I really want the community to build on this game! Anyway, have a great one everyone!

How are the upgrade cards broken down? FFG has stated we won't have to buy opposing factions for upgrade cards specific to our own faction, are they designed to only work with a certain factions troops or are they universal?

Did you have any problems with bent or broken pieces on the minis? (common problem with IA products).

There are both universal and faction-specific upgrades. Any universal upgrade will be included with at least one box from each faction. So you might end up needing to buy a unit you weren't planning to purchase in order to get a specific upgrade, but you won't have to but any units from a different faction.

No broken pieces in my box, just some bent spears.

Yeah, that's about the only issue I have with components and it's not really even an issue. Just a hairdryer and some cold water and it'll be just right. Coming from GW products and knowing the price mark on these minis, I'm EXTREMELY pleased. FFG for life!

Sure thing. In inches (at longest points):

spikes 2.5x2.5

swamp 5.75x6.5

forest 8.5x6.5

So my understanding is that we can build our own custom terrain for the game using these dimensions? Because the terrain is chosen randomly or according to the objective cards correct?

Yes, it seems to be pretty flexible with custom terrain. If you reference page 23 of the Learn to Play guide (which there is a PDF in another thread) it says that RMG is "designed to be flexible for whatever models you want to use to represent terrain."

My guess would be that tournaments use the terrain tokens, however the L2P and the RRG are both very accommodating of you making up your own terrain, dimensions and all. I'm already thinking up ways to utilize some bridges I have.

Sounds like you could use a custom objective card to go with that custom terrain.
