I am playing tonight, and I think I'll be facing a bunch of CR90s with the upgrade that lets them dole out 2 damage each time basically (I forget the name because I stink). I am pretty inept when it comes to making lists... anyone have any suggestions about how to handle such a thing?
I am about to face a bunch of CR90s
Are you playing Rebels or Imperials?
What are your assets for that fleet.

Are we talking turbolaser reroute circuits?
Is it Rieekan with CR90B and Engine Techs that rams you to death?
I say Rhymer and some Firesprays will work best.

Yes! Sorry, I was googling to figure out which it was. I doubt there will be much ramming... just playing with a friend, who is about as casual a gamer as can be... we both usually make lists that are just sort of fun and respect the fluff:) I don't think he is a rammer.
And yes, Imperials. I can't be Rebels, after all... you can't have Rebels shooting rebels!:)
Right now I am looking at a fairly kitted out ISD II (Gunnery Team, Advanced Projectors, H9s) because it is fun... a Victory II with veteran gunners... A Gozanti with repair crews and expanded hanger bays... then Maarek Steele, Rhymer, a bomber, Boba Fett, a Decimator, and a pair of TIE fighters (because I have extra points.) Oh, and Jerjerrod as the admiral, to try to keep things in arc.
I welcome being shown what an idiot I am:)
Oh, and I do have access to basically everything (although not many of the rogues and villains... one each or so). Would love to run two ISDs... is that stupid as heck?
Edited by Lord AshramI am inclined to suggest phylon Q7 tractor beams, and Rhymer/Firesprays. Mess with his maneuverability, then pounce with the bombers.
Oh, tractor beams. Hm, never considered those. Yeah, I can ditch those two TIEs and pick those up for the Victory and the ISD...
BTW, using the Gozanti and Victory to push the bombers out there... that's a decent idea, right?
God I am such a noob:)

Makes it harder for him to Kite you. G8 on the Interdictor and/or Konstantine would mess with him too.
CR90 swarms tend to not run strong squad screens. A well set Intel/Chiraneau-backed Rhymerball would bring some pain at range. Rebels have an it harder time countering that way just due to slower bombers and no Rhymer equivalent. Though a screen with Norra and All Fighters Follow Me would get some extra range and shield busting.
If it is a TRC swarm, Mothma and Cracken are great counters. Any ships with evades hurt them. Admiral Montiferret also comes to mind.
Edited by Church14BTW, am I crazy for wanting a lot more points? Without huge clouds of squadrons it just doesn't feel right!
Arquitens + Jonus + intel officer + DTTs. Add in like 2 of those and they punch CR90s. I would know.
The Chiraneau/Jendon/Steele/Rhymer-ball with additional bombers, and an escort or two, was the downfall of my Rieekan TRC90 corvette swarm at regionals...make sure you can activate most of your squadrons, and take advantage of Jendon's relay. Flotillas are useful here.
Defintiely keep the gunnery teams on the ISD. If you can get a corvette or two in blue range they aren't difficult to one-shot.
Fight fire with lava.....
...... Utilise the power of the Arquitens and bombers
Catch them by surprise with the ISD. Start speed 1 and take Nav token, Turn 2 take Nav command and go to speed 3 and try to catch several in your front arc. ISD's can be surprisingly maneuverable (even more so if you take Jerjerord!). He will only be able to save 1 with first player. Playing slow will only play to their strengths. CR90's are very maneuverable but not quite as much as you think they are.
I would as well suggest a squadron screen (but i am a Squadron addicted...).
Rhymer, Maarek, Jendon, 1-2 Tie Defender, 2-3 Tie Bomber and 1-2 Bomber Command Center in range. And you can kill one CR90 every round. Just stay in close range, to make the evade tokens worthless.
A ISD might have the problem, that he can get eaten up by the many red double hits. And the ISD has the other problem, that he might get beaten by the activations from the opponent. If you try to rush in with the speed 3, it can happen that all the CR90 fly by and you have no chance to attack them. And once they are in your side, you have no way to get them back into your front. You might kill 1 or 2 on the charge. But after this you might lose the ISD.
Hey guys!
I really appreciate all the advice! After all of this, I finally texted my buddy, who said he was bringing a squadron heavy mixed rebel force! So much for that! So I ended up doing what I usually do... trying for some sort of themed list:) Went with a Rebels-inspired ISD/Arquitens/Gozanti force with a Rhymerball; first one I ever used! It went well; I took a few photos, so I'll share when I am home... the game included a really nice painted Venator and some unpainted Arcs, so that is fun:)
Thanks for all the advice!

Pics?
Honestly my list of dual ISD's (both with electric countermeasures and gunnery teams) and a kitted out Demolisher (Expanded Launchers, ordnance experts, Minister Tua, and Reinforce Blast Doors) with Jerjerod did really well against an all CR-90 fleet.
