My experiences with my FLGS demo copy

By jonboyjon1990, in Runewars Miniatures Game

Esdevium (asmodee owned U.K. Games distributor) invited a ton of FLGS owners to an event yesterday and gave out tons of demo copies of the core box and were teaching the game.

Today my FLGS owners brought back their copy and I helped unbox it, out it together and play the first game. So here's some initial thoughts.

- usual FFG quality on everything.

- plenty in the box - similar to Armada, less than say Imperial Assault

- the minis are good. The golem, worm, heroes and cavalry particularly. The infantry are ok. I'm sure they'll paint up nice. Same plastic and quality as Imperial Assault

- you pretty much need glue, particularly for the reanimated, archers and spearmen

- I had read the rules on here beforehand so it was easy to pick up, but it's similar in complexity to Armada

- the gameplay is as expected really good, the initiative system is really interesting, but also reliant on you learning the many moves of the opponents units, so there's plenty of depth there but will take many games to see

- cavalry are very fast, but it's hard to charge with them unless you're going straight.
