Knobby White Spider stats?

By Underachiever599, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

No knobby white spiders, I'm afraid, but Nexus of Power has four pages detailing the fauna of Dagobah.

Odd, those same spiders appear in Star Wars Rebels on the planet Atollon.

I knew I recognized that thing. The Krykna Spider (from Rebels) might be the "new canon" version of this creature, which is based on Ralph McQuarrie's concept art for ESB (image in OP).

Yep! That's actually what inspired the idea. Only I really like the Legends version (which was basically a mobile sprout of a Gnarltree), so that's what I want to throw at my players

There is a slight, but very important difference between the Krykna's a knobby white spiders. Kryknas only have six legs, Knobby white spiders have eight .

To be fair, this oversight likely has more to do with the Rebels graphics designers just not realizing the leg count (or not caring since the previous info was non-canon). Considering the spiders are identical in every way other then leg count, it's safe to assume they're the same spiders.

I disagree, particularly given the knobby white spiders life cycle (being essentially seeds of the Gnarl Tree)

Except the Knobby White Spiders don't actually exist as written in Legends material. The closest canon creature to them is the spiders shown on Atollon.

Force and Destiny is based around Legends, not just canon. So the Legends lifecycle of the Knobby White Spider still applies here

Yep. Further, the Knobby White Spiders are a part of the original artwork produced by Ralf McQuarrie for ESB set on Dagobah , along with the Gnarl Trees in the images, and named as such by McQuarrie.
