As someone not familiar with the lore, can you expand? I noticed the name Ravos, he was the last boss on the BattleLore app I believe. But that's all I know of!
I've never played (or read the rules/fluff) of Descent or Disc Wars, so I too am not familiar with the Lore. And I've only gotten to read 15 pages of the Lore book, but even from that I could see the things they were alluding at. X-bows, merc's, animated knights, evil men, elven squads living in the Free Cities.
Nothing concrete, just hints at what they could do.
I've been teaching all day. I can't wait to read the Lore guide on the bus ride home! I read a little bit of it from screen shots on the BoLS unboxing, but I'm excited to go through it all in detail. I did like the mention of characters like Astarra in the beginning.
EDIT: Just saw Malaana and Ravos in there! So cool to see those BattleLore: Command characters continuing on in the lore!
Edited by BudgernautIronbound, Barrow Wyrms, Riverwatch Riders, Chaos Lords, Obscenes, Fleshrippers and a few others of our favourite Battlelore units mentioned there. Oh how I love my Uthuk.
Thanks for this!
Would you by any chance be able to scan the four terrain cards also?
that would make my weekend.

I would like to check terrain, deployment and mission cards too.
Oh, if we are doing cards then surely we should get high resolution pics for all upgrade and units cards for the wiki?

I think I can make that happen

Deployment and Mission Cards are already in the OP

Happy to do it. For the wiki, the cards will likely need to be scanned one at a time, rather than all at once, so I might not get to it before work.
That would be awesome man!
id like to get started on planing on what terrain to get this weekend.
OP Edited to add terrain and Upgrades. I'll have to go back and redo the Upgrades, I think, as an edge got cut off.
Hey quick question guys. Does a "tray" mean one figure or as many figures as you can fit in a tray? (for example 4 reanimates = 1 tray)
For Golem/CarionLancer/Heroes 1 tray = 1 fig
for cavarly 1 tray = 2 figs
for footmen/reanimates 1 tray = 4 figs

In game terms, though, the tray is the tray on the board, regardless of how many figs are on it. So if you lose 3 reanimates in your 4 tray formation, you still have 4 trays as 3 figures is not enough to remove an entire tray.
Also, though I don't know why an attacker would do this, since you remove dead figures from the entire back rank, you could remove from more than one tray even if you have enough wounds to remove a tray. Again though, the attacker chooses what to remove and not focusing down one tray at a time seems silly.

This actually came up in one of our matches yesterday! My opponent split damage across two trays to keep multiple units still engaged. If one of the trays had been removed on that attack, his unit attacking later in the round wouldn't have been engaged anymore.
Note that 22.4 makes it impossible to use this to break up a unit. Also note that back rank refers to the row of the tray, not the individual models. Also, splitting up damage would be a way to counter ankuar Maro and regenerate

To clarify, there were two trays of reanimates left (just the front row). Kari was flanking them on their right side, and a single tray of spearmen were squared up to their front, on the Reanimated left side. Kari killed 5 reanimates, and removed two from one tray, and three from the other, not fully eliminating any trays. This kept it so that both Kari and the Spearmen were still engaged.

If you are engaged with an enemy and they lose the try you are touching, you attempt to close in, using the 1 speed template. Since the 1 speed template is the length of a tray, removing 1 tray will never force a disengagement unless something else is preventing the close in to happen.

You are correct, he could have had Kiri kill the unit she was engaged with and closed in. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, I know the three of us playing last night thought our friend was a tactical genius at the time, but it was also well into our second growler of beer, so the details are a bit fuzzy...
Edit: Just texted my friend to get more insight - the Reanimate trays, along with a piece of terrain, were blocking an Ardus counter-charge on Kiri, so he left them alive. I knew there was some reason for it.
Edited by MysteriousRacerXA couple of more questions, my copy of the game is at home and I'm at work:
1) Are there really only 18 upgrade cards in the core game?
2) If an upgrade card has the defense and wounds listed that means you add the listed model to a unit right? For example: Support Carrion Lancer. And you don't have the pay the points for the actual model, just the upgrade?
3)How do you know if an upgrade has to be exhausted to use it?
1 minute ago, Shauni55 said:1) Are there really only 18 upgrade cards in the core game?
Yup, just those 18 in the core set

FWIW, it's actually the silhouette in the top right corner that lets you know you replace a front-rank model or tray with that upgrade. You just pay for the upgrade, and the upgrade acts as part of the unit, using the same dial and dice, but it also provides some sort of benefit to the unit. For example, the Rune Golem adds "Brutal" to the Spearmen.
5 minutes ago, Shauni55 said:3)How do you know if an upgrade has to be exhausted to use it?
The cards will explicitly instruct you to exhaust it, if you need to exhaust it. Check out Shield Wall as an example.
Thanks so much!!! One last question. Can different units take the same upgrade (by paying the additional cost) for example if I had 2 units of spearmen, can each of them take shield wall

I bet that FFG releases tournament rules that should address this. If it is similar to their other games, and I think it will be, then you will need to have a copy of the card for each instance of the upgrade you have in your list. During casual play, it's up to you and your opponent!

If the name of a unit or upgrade has a fancy underline to it, then it is unique and only one copy of a card with that name may be used in your army. If it is not underlined (like Shield Wall) then you can put it on multiple armies. Like @MysteriousRacerX says, you will most likely need a physical card for each unit that has that upgrade.
