So, my player characters are marooned on Tython, and circumstances will force them to descend into the Abyss of Ruh, a seemingly endless chasm filled to the brim with dark side energies. This needs to be really, really significant an event, as it'll be the grand finale to our Tython adventures. Somewhere in the chasm, or some alien dimension spawned by the force within, is their ship, their means to leave the planet.
Now I need inspiration, for strange and scary things that could happen, or be illusions seemingly happening, down in the abyss. The PCs are striving to become Jedi knights, and this could be seen as their final test. Give me interesting illusions and force trials, weird caverns with strange artifacts, scary ghosts, mysterious puzzles, anything of the like! Any ideas you have might be useful for me.
(Important: I have read Nexus of Power, but it only has a few vague rules for the Abyss. I'm more looking for narrative ideas hear).
Descending into the Abyss [Spoilers: My players]
Read through the annual pigeon thread I think its in the eoe forum, there is an account of such a planet and the hallucinations that accompany Dark side concentrations.
Edited by TheShardI'm away from my books, but I believe there was a brief section on Tython in Nexus of Power.
edit: just noticed the important note at the conclusion of the initial post (please disregard my willingness to respond to a thread, despite my evident failure to read it in its entirety).

For a strong Dark side nexus I would suggest things like:
1.) For any Force check rolled, they gain 2 free Dark side pips. Maybe even a free FR to commit for on-going Conflict (1/rd?). Basically huge lures for easy Power (and Conflict ;D).
2.) Force Storms (Google them, make up your own mechanical effects for when it matters/in combat, I do things like - Discipline Check or become Disoriented or Knocked down or take Strain, etc., and just narrate the effects when it's story-time)
3.) Of course there are Dark side Force ghosts that should (half-)lie to them, and cause distractions for ambushes, and shroud otherwise benevolent creatures in horrific images (trying to get them to slay innocent beasts, or people).
Bunches of fun stuff.

Edgehawk is correct. Nexus of Power does have a full write-up on Tython and its various Vergences.
