Suppressing the Field!

By Drakeheart, in X-Wing Rules Questions

So I had a thought.

Captain Rex reads, "After you perform an attack, assign the "Suppressive Fire" Condition card to the defender."

Baze Malbus reads, "After you perform an attack that does not hit, you may immediately perform a primary weapon attack against a different ship. You cannot perform another attack this round."

There is nothing within the Suppressive Fire Condition Card that states Rex cannot affect more than one target.

Given these facts, would it be possible to take Captain Rex w/ Title, stuff Baze Malbus in, and use them to reduce the attack value of multiple pilots?

Suppressive Fire is unique (the dot in front of the name.) If you use any effect for additional attacks, all you accomplish is moving the unique card.

(Apart from other perks of attacking more than once.)

What jmswood said.

Also, it says "THE Suppressive Fire condition card" not "A Suppressive Fire condition card"

So even without the dot there's only one.

So can I maintain the suppressive fire if you attack another ship other then the one with the condition? The card is unclear...

Captain Rex assigns suppressive fire to any ship he attacks. So ship A has the suppressive fire condition from last round, and Captain Rex attacks a different ship it will assign the condition to that ship, then if he attacks ship A again (using gunner or something that gives him 2 attacks), he would assign the condition card back to ship A.

The condition card won't disappear since you did perform an attack during the combat phase.
