DOUBT about marshalling phase and Shadows

By Gualdo, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Hi,

here's a doubt I have for the shadow mechanics during marshalling. On the shadow rules it is stated:

--At the beginning of the any phase, a card that is in Shadows can come out of Shadows and into play--

myquestion is:

the calculation of income for the first player is calculated before "shadow time" or after?

I thought since 10 minutes ago "after" so in marshalling only S0 cards could be played... but now I have this doubt...

can someone solve this to me please?

thx in advance

The Mashaling Phase works like this:

1. Begin Phase (Shadows happens here)

2. First Player becomes Active Player and counts income

3. Player Actions (only the Active Player can spend gold to play cards)

4. Next player becomes Active Player and counts income

5. Player Actions (only the Active Player can spend gold to play cards)

(Repeat #4-5 until all players have been Active Player once)

6. End Phase

So yes, the opportunity to bring cards out of Shadows in the Marshaling Phase happens before any player has counted income. That means that in most situations, it will be impossible to bring a card with a cost higher than "s0" out of Shadows in the Marshaling phase because you won't have the cash.

thx ktom!!! I cotninue to learn :-)

Considering the flow to the marshalling phase, does shadows happens before counting dominance? So Can I put out shadows a card at the beginning of the dominance phase to win it?

thx

Yes. Dominance works like this:

1. Begin Phase (Shadows happens here)

2. Count/Award Dominance

3. Player Actions

4. End Phase
