Commander Calrissian anyone?

By Muelmuel, in Star Wars: Armada

We have two versions of leia(upcoming anyways), and he reached general level in the rebellion, so why not? Any interesting ideas on his ability/cost?

I'll try mine with dice rolling effects:

While a friendly ship is defending, during the spend defense tokens step, you may spend one of the defender's command tokens to force the attacker to reroll 1 die of your choice.

When a friendly ship overlaps an obstacle, roll 1 red die. Apply the effect of overlapping that obstacle as many times as the number of (hit) icons rolled.

25 points

It would be General Calrissian and would probably be a benefit to squadrons.

I would like to see some gambling from his ability. Could get annoying but would be thematic.

In the same way that I want to see Thrawn to mess with objectives.

I think a gambling effect could be cool, but it would be so hard to make it balanced because of the natural swinginess of the dice. Could be something like....

General Calrissian, 28 pts

For every ship activation roll a Red dice. After rolling, perform indicated action and set aside.

On Hit do nothing, proceed with attack as normal.

On Crit- Add Crit effect "Deal 1 face down damage card to the defender"

On Accuracy- Choose and exhaust one defense token.

On Blank- Before attack, remove one die of your choice.

So its a 25% chance to add a damage, 25% chance to lose a dice, 12.5% to burn a def token, and a 37.5% chance to do nothing on each ship activation.

"When a friendly ship is attacking, after declaring the defending hull zone, the defender can set the defending hull shield value up to its maximum value."

The shield is still up!

Perhaps General Calrissian gives friendly ships additional dice in combat, but only at close range?

"Yes i said closer! Move in as close as you can and engage those star destroyers at point-blank range!"

Sad that no one has suggested that yet :D

Yeah, I was thinking of his major quotes during that battle and that one stands out. Along the lines of the gambling part and taking big chances, I'd have him be like a Vader type where you may spend a defense token to either add or reroll attack dice at close range for both Ships and Squadrons. Something along those lines.

A Lando admiral would be great, but what about a Chewie of any variety? He is conspicuously absent...

Chewie didn't really serve the Rebellion so much as guard Han. He also never really served in a ship in any official capacity that I was aware of (I'm prepared for the corrections).

He could be a unique crew that functions like a unique, ship crit oriented version of Medical Teams. That or something like a unique Boarding Teams. He spent the movies murdering Stormtroopers or repairing things.

Repels boarders in some way would be my choice for his power.

Chewbacca, Body Guard, crew upgrade, 2pts: Whenever an opponent uses any "Boarding" card against this ship or a friendly ship at close range, the action is cancelled and the boarding card is not discarded.

More like "whenever an opponent tries to use a boarding action against this ship or a friendly ship at close range, the action is cancelled, you may rip this card up into tiny pieces and wookie howl in your opponent's face" :D

This is what happens when Alberta gets to spread their perceived notions outwards.

I asked an Alberta Native how to respond to this (since I, myself, am a Filthy Ex-Pat Australian)...

And their response was:

"If you don't accept it, you don't get to profit from our Oil, either."

Seeing as most Canadian crude gets exported (if I recall we don't actually refine it), my car isn't running on it anyway. The way I'm taxed the government profits on me not the other way around :D

Tearing up a boarding party card though, that'd be SWEET. We need Unglued level cards.

Maybe for dras we can refer to ripping up cards as "the saturday night special"...:D
