What Defender Nerf?

a list that i came up with shortly before the X7 nerf but despite relying on defenders was completely unaffected, any comments welcome

Maarek Steele (TIE Defender) + TIE/D + A Score to Settle + Ion Cannon + TIE/mk II: 39

Colonel Vessery + TIE/D + Adaptability (up) + Tractor Beam + TIE/mk II: 37

Lt. Colzet + TIE/x1 + AC + TIE/mk II: 24

total: 100/100

the heart of this list is to maim the enemy squadron before going in for the kill

I think flechette cannon makes more sense after the last faq; stress is all of a sudden a lot more relevant again, but there are still a lot of big ships that just don't care about ion tokens much.

I'm not sure I understand what colzet is doing in this list; is he meant to combo with Marek? It seems less reliable than Kylo Colzet, and I think you can better spend those points, especially if offense is your goal.

I put this list together with the intention of maximizing your alpha strike. You could swap Crack on the Gamma for VI to keep all your ships shooting at ps7 together.

I run TIE/Ds with a similar list:

Vessery, Expertise, TIE/D, Tractor Beam, Mk.II

Ryad, PTL, TIE/D, Flechette Cannon, MK.II

Scimitar Squadron Pilot, Ion Pulse Missiles, Guidance Chips

In mine the Scimitar is purely sacrificial- use it to block, target lock for Vessery, and hopefully, the the Ion Pulse Missile into a Large ship or high value target. Expertise on Vessery makes him a BEAST. His rolls are just insane if he gets to use his ability.

And soon here we'll be able to try builds with Aggressors in the 3rd spot. Could be interesting.
