By Kithoras, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hi,

So, first of all, sorry in advance for any and all grammarical mistakes English is not native for me.

First I want to explain my idology for making these lists and would realy appreciate all comments you have on them.

Firstly idea of these lists is that I wanted them to be simple, not too many things to remember.

Things happening as same time as possible while still being some what competative.

Those points in mind, here are the lists:

First imperials

Tie advanced "storm squadron" 23

Tie advanced "storm squadron" 23

Decimator "patrol leader" 40

Recon specialist 3

Gunner 5

Advanced proton torpedos 6

Second rebels

X wing "Red squadron" 23

R3 droid 2

X wing "Red squadron" 23

R3 droid 2

VCX100 "hera syndulla" 40

Blaster turret 4

Reinforced deflectors 3

Recon specialist 3

And last scum

IG 88 B 36

IG 2000

Mangler cannon 4

Marksmanship 3

Reinforced deflectors 3

Hot shot balster 3

IG 88 C 36

IG 2000

Mangler cannon 4

Marksmanship 3

Reinforced deflectors 3

Hot shot balster 3

How competative are these list? What would you change? How do you think these would play out?? Thank you in advance for your comments.

definitely interesting, i would personally drop APT (Advanced Proton Torpedoes) on the Decimator for other upgrades, the Decimator lacks the action economy and maneuverability to make APTs or really any ordinance viable. it's rare to see TIE/Adv without good reason though with the TIE/x1 title and the upgrade slot it provides i can see them being effective, just be wary of turrets they are a good counter to this list

for the rebel list i would switch R3 to a different astromech and utilize IA (Integrated Astromech), also biggs darklighter really wants to be in this list, even if it makes it a 2 ship list, though that will give you more upgrades

i personally see the IG-2000 to be past it's heyday. i would definitely suggest AT (autothrusters) and a different EPT (Elite Pilot Talent) as marksmanship is one of the worse ones out there, i would even prefer Determination as Kylo Ren's ISYtDS (I'll Show You the Dark Side) and the A New Hope Starter Set damage deck would really hurt this list. i've heard that the new cannon coming with the C-ROC could work well with IG-88B.

before someone complains a more common and easy to read way to list you squadron is:

squadron name (Optional)

Pilot 1 (there's only 1 time that you'll have to list the ship [Maarek Steele]) + Upgrade 1 + upgrade 2 +... upgrade n: ship total

Pilot 2 + Upgrade 1 + upgrade 2 +... upgrade n: ship total

...

Pilot n + Upgrade 1 + upgrade 2 +... upgrade n: ship total

Squadron Total:

this way people can see at a glance where the point sinks are and whether you're playing an epic game or not. players will typically know the points values of individual cards especially the more common ones

I don't think you're not going to get far with this on a competitive level. The X-Wings are level 4's, so unless you're facing some kind of swarm, the enemy will likely have already attacked you, making the evade tokens useless.

I know you wanted to keep it simple, but that's hard to do on a Ghost which has so much potential for add-ons and combinations. Here's a more complicated Ghost list (simple one below it):

Personally, I would drop one of the x-wings to add the Phantom and switch to TLT or at least Dorsal Turret so you don't have to spend a focus to use your turret. Plus the Phantom gives you added use for your turret and a rear arc. Reinforced deflectors may sound nice, but I would say you're better off doing as much damage with the Ghost as possible. Fire Control System will maximize your firepower.

I would do something like this:

Kanan (51 total)
- FCS
- TLT
- RecSpec
-Jan Ors

Zeb (20 total)
- Autoblaster Turret

Biggs (29 total)
-R2-D2
-Integrated Astromech

If you're wanting to stick with Hera and two X-wings, here's the best I got for you:

Hera (52 total)
-FCS
- TLT
-Cassian Andor
- Jan Ors

Rookie Pilot (24 total)
- R2 Astomech
- Seismic Torpedo
- Integrated Astromech

Rookie Pilot (24 total)
-R2 Astomech
- Seismic Torpedo
-Integrated Astromech

The most important thing, though, is to get comfortable with the ships and you can add complexity once you have a good grasp of the game mechanics. Have fun flying!

Your writing skills are better than many native English speakers.

The Imperial list has some weaknesses. If you like TIE Advanced, then the TIE/x1 title cards and Advanced Targeting Computer are worth the investment. On the Decimator, I would drop the Torpedo, and change Recon Specialist to Darth Vader.

The Rebel List doesn't have much going for it. There are some good lists with Ghosts. Kanan/Shuttle/Biggs is a common one. If you like the ships you picked, then here are some recommendations for upgrades: Get rid of R3 astromech, it is the Astromech in the game. Use R2 Astromech with Integrated Astromech to save points and effectively add Hull to your X-wings. For The Ghost, Autoblaster Turret and Accuracy Corrector are gold.

The Scum list is the best of the three, but it could use some changes. Glitterstim will probably seeve you better than Hot Shot Blaster in the Illicit spot. Marksmanship has been outclassed by Expertise, and neither pairs with Glitterstim. I recommend Push the Limit for EPT and AutoThrusters for Modification
