I don't hate on X-Wing. I don't know the game and got here simply because I thought Armada looked awesome.

The real question is though, if Armada had existed first, would X-Wing still be the more popular game?

Short answer, yes. It is more accessible to more people in both price, time consumption, and strategy.

But as most things in life, popularity as a singular metric cannot determine "the best."

Both are great games, and shame shame shame on all of you for turning this fun benign meaningless thread into another senseless "X-Wing v. Armada" debate.

It's as if we were bitter rivals instead of brothers.

I don't hate X-wing. Never played and don't intend to. I enjoy more balanced games, which X-wing does not appear to be, considering the major erratas that have happened, the prolific net listing, and 1 guys has won most the world champs. It reminds me of Hearthstone. Really fun if you play with your friends, but only a few lists are actually competitive.
