A priori the things people are suggesting are pretty great (Shadow Casters with 4 uses of Stim, in particular) but that's not the whole story - you have to spend 34+ points on a YV with only one open crew slot to get that on the field. And arguably you lose the ability to spend the tokens when the YV dies.

Jabba's ability only applies prior to the beginning of the game. You could jettison him out of the cargo bay and equip someone else. Unfortunately Azmorigan is huge ship only...
My thinking was to use Azmorigan to bring Jabba into the game though, and since the incoming upgrade has to be of equal or lesser value, Gunner is the only option to bring Jabba in.
Az works on any ship you have, not just the one he's on, so you could have a Gunner in play elsewhere
. But I don't see the value of getting rid of Gunner for Jabba over just starting with Jabba in place.

Huge ship with reinforce and Latts crew is going to auto evade so much damage. Stress is handed out like candy in epic as it is, nevermind that scum are pretty good at dishing attack-stress out anyway
If you dump Jabba from the CROC, Latts would be a great swap.

No. When you (ignoring that 'you' refers to the ship not the player) would discard an illicit card, discard the token instead. Arguably that's checked when the card is discarded, not when Jabba is equipped. And if it's not it does mean you can bring Az and Jabba, and space jabba and replace him with Dengar the instant the game starts which sounds kinda bent if not broken.

Ooh true, I'd not noticed that. Using Az on the CRC to swap out Jabba for Gunner once the tokens have been spent might actually be viable.

as usual ppl completely ignore custom formats and epic play. Yes, Jabba ain't the best in standard but in epic or custom format he can be awesome. Lists with a lot of illicit stuff are pumped a lot by him for "just" 5 points. Furthermore the tokens remain even if the ship containing Jabba is removed.
It is a bit sad that ppl always only think about torunament/competetive play. X-Wing is FAR more than this. In fact I do not play 100pts very much since it is so limited. I can remember the new Chewy also was said to be awful but against an epic Swarm he shines like a boss. Jabba has the same potential but not on 100 pts.
What really is annoying that FFG announces a new wave and then posts a news just to show ONE new card...Thats annoyin I have to say.

I tell you what, it really bugs me that they didn;t make illicit tokens (and munitions tokens for that matter) just do a default thing when they're on a card, rather than defining what they do on an upgrade. It would be pretty great if Jabba wasn;t the only source of Illicit tokens.

If Jabba disappears, you don't lose the extra tokens on all your ships. It's like if you lose Extra Munitions upgrade on a ship that has the EM tokens. You don't lose the tokens from the ship. Start off with Jabba and then swap him out the first round for something else.

The tokens do nothing without Jabba present, since the text is in Jabba's card.
If the illicit token rules were in a reference card, then yes. You could safely remvoe Jabba and keep the tokens and their functionality.

Neither are the m3as and the upgrades. So ffg delivered what many had hoped for: a huge exp that shines in epic and is fun but not must-have in standard. Well done and thank you ffg!

I recall the debate, but did not find anything in the FAQ. Is there an e-mail ruling maybe?

The FAQ says about it in Boba Fett's entry:
If Boba Fett is used to discard an Upgrade card that has an ordnance token on it (including the Extra Munitions Upgrade card itself), the opposing player can discard the ordnance token instead.
That means that as long as you have the Extra Munitions card, Boba Fett only discards a munitions token, because Extra Munitions says so.
But if for whatever reason Extra Munitions were discarded, the munition tokens have no meaning, since all meaning is given to them in the Extra Munitions face up side text.
I'm betting they errata it so that you don't need Jabba on the table to use the tokens. Fluff wise they are his guards and they get extra goods, even if he blows up.
