Runewars Rulebook Up!

By MegaSilver, in Runewars Miniatures Game

The amazing thing is how I can still click refresh every minute while still holding tight.

.... and how I typed this reply.

Wouldn't it be funny if, after all this anticipation, FFG posted the rules online tomorrow?

Check the OP fellas. Make sure the link works.

Glorious!

Okay...now it's starting to hurt...?

I'm missing something!?!? I don't see a link?

The frequently overlooked rules portion is such a good idea. Thanks for this.

Thank you!!!!

Should be going to bed. Just made a cup of coffee and now it's time to read.

My iPad only has 4% and I can't plug it in from my bed, guess I'm laying on the floor. #sacrificeswillbemade

I haven't found any part yet that is unreadable. Great photos!

Oh, I see. I was 2 pages before that point, so I hadn't seen it yet. Oh well. What we've got is better than nothing!

Thanks a lot for the effort! pages 21 and 22 of Rules Reference maybe are the worst pictures but I have a lot to read! thanks again.

It is interesting that you can shift in combat to change position but stay engaged. Should be helpful for wave charges.

great stuff, thank you.

Thank you!!

So is it just me or are there pages missing here in the Learn to Play book? Maybe it's just the layout but I can't find an actual section going over attacks. On Image 0655 there is an example of an attack but even then it seems out of place since neither before nor after is there anything about attacking. Maybe there is just something I'm missing. Anybody?

Lots of good stuff in here, it's interesting that you round down at the end for tallying points. So if you're are at 5 trays and it's round 7, might be time to get a little suicidal as you are losing that last tray anyway in the scoring.

The deployment cards are a really neat aspect as well, although I enjoy the freedom of placement with X-Wing I find that you can get hard countered this way early on against an unlucky list. Taking that element out of it and dictating deployment zones can help prevent early counters.

I think the terrain aspect has me most intrigued. I really like the idea of being able to use it as cover from enemy attacks, or at the very least a vantage point to avoid LOS breaks. This adds a whole other level of depth to the game. "The unity occupying the terrain is treated as having it's front edge touching each unit in contact with the terrain." Wow very nice, so it can get the damage bonus for attacking and hit any unit that is touching it. And range can attack from any side.. trade off is depending on the terrain it will allow units to attack you from further away.

The upgrade cards are very neat as well, glad I have a bit more information about the system now. I did not realize that a hero could slot in with regular troops or be used on its own like that, very cool. I also didn't realize you could use upgrade cards to slot siege units in with other unit trays.

I am hoping that the unit assembly goes smoothly, I've had some issues with my IA stuff including needing replacing parts. FFG has always been great about replacing anything necessary though and I just proxy until it gets here. I know my Rancor has needed a lot of filing to get the pieces to fit in right and the base is a bit warped as well. Lots of other pieces have come with broken weapons, so I am hoping that the fact you have to assembly these pieces will require less replacement.

Ooooh You're (one of) my god(s) on this forum. Be praised and hailed till the end of times and beyond.... Thanks a lot for uploading it and don't worry for reading problems, FFG hasn't given us official stuff so your contribution is much much appreciated !

Thanks a lot !

Thank you.

Lore book, right meow?
