Interdictors x2 List 400pts

By Lord Thallium, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

So I love the Interdictors and from what I read they seemto get a bad rap so I built the following list and it worked quite well.

Admiral Konstantine 23pts

Imperial 1 Star Destroyer 110pts

Title Relentless 3pts

XI7 Turbolasers 6pts

Interdictor Suppression refit 90pts

Title Interdictor 3pts

Phylon Q7 Tractor beams 6pts

Projection experts 6pts

G-8 experimental projector 8pts

G7-X gravwell projector 2pts

Interdictor Suppression refit 90pts

Phylon Q7 Tractor beams 6pts

Projection experts 6pts

Targeting Scrambler 5pts

G7-X gravwell projector 2pts

Squadrons

Howlrunner 16pts

2x Tie fighter 16pts

398pts

The list pinned the Rebel fleet in place and I wrecked his day....

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks

A lot of health locked up in hard-to-kill hulls. Points denial is a solid approach to victory.

What are the objectives you use with it? Really nice build btw

I was using Advanced Gunnery, Contested Outpost and Sensor Net.

Whoa.... 2 Dictors plus an ISD. This is definitely a fearsome list :) I think I'll give it a try.

My opponent asked my not to bring this list again for awhile lol Between locking down his deployment and making his speedy rebel ships slower than B-wings he wasn't particularly happy...

I like the list, looks consistent. The only thing I would consider is swapping out relentless and xi7 for either ECM or blast doors on the ISD just to make it even harder to kill, if you go for blast doors you can put skilled first officers on the two interdocs which is always nice.

Contested outpost with G8 is just a massacre

Curious on every ones thoughts on trading the Interdictor Suppression Refit with the Targeting Scramblers for a Combat Refit without the Scramblers to add a 2 points to bid? I found that I don't really use the Scramblers that often. Let me know what you think.

Side note all the other upgrades would remain the same for the combat Refit.

I feel if you're not using Targeting Scramblers that often, then you're not using that ISD-1 to its full potential.

I definitely miss read the Targeting Scramblers lol, I'm going to keep them.

It's an interesting build- I hadn't thought of pairing interdictors. I am one of the naysayers, having tried in some 3 fleets to get an interdictor/ISD combo to work. I like it, though mine would probably swap out Howl for 2x more TIE fighters, just to tie down enemy bombers. Bombers could be a serious problem for this list, lacking flak as it is- 8x Y-wings with BCC aren't uncommon in our meta and can just shred even an ISD if they aren't engaged.

It looks like its major weakness is a bomber heavy build, but even that it might be able to tank. How did you fly this? in a line with the ISD in the middle, or the targeting scrambler in the middle while the ISD sweeps up a flank?

I kinda love it? I reaaaaally wanted the Dictor to work much better than it does in a normal fleet- in practice i found that it couldn't do enough to control the battlefield. 2x gx-7s, plus 2x Tractor Beams, plus Interdictor, plus Konstantine, slowing everything Rebel to a crawl, sounds just lovely. I'm not going to get another interdictor to fly it, probably, but I do enjoy it conceptually.

I fly them in a straight line with Interdictor, ISD, Interdictor and with the GX-7 I force my opponent into one side on his zone and I set my fleet up to control the remaining board. I fleet I fought was heavy in bombers and my ships took a beating but thanks to engineering 5 on the Interdictors and projection experts I was able to keep everything alive mind you both Interdictors we more or less burning wreaks by the end when my opponent realized to kill the ISD the Interdictors must die. Surviving 3 rounds of bombers was tough. Watching the Rebel player squirm because his fleet was stationary was very satisfying though lol.

Would it be worth swapping a tractor beam out of one of the Interdictors and sticking it on the ISD?

Just cause they affect same size ship or smaller and ISD is a large base, rather than medium. :-)

That is a good point lol, I will have to do that. It makes far more sense that way.

Thanks

Interdictors with experimental projectors, Konstantine and Tractor beams in my experience, is overkill. I have tried it a couple of time. Konstantine, one experimental projector and one tractor beam is in my experience more than enough.

I would change one of them to a Combat refit and just plop the one of the upgrades on that ship. The extra RED die, and two dice attacking squadrons goes a long way.
