Could the Punisher be balanced with a title that allowed multiple attacks?

Anything can be balanced if you charge the right amount of points for it.

OR set enough restrictions to them

TIE Interdictor

"You may place 1 ordnance token on each equipped M & T upgrade.

Immediately after attacking with your primary weapon if you have no stress tokens you may receive one stress token to perform a M or T attack on the same ship."

Makes landing in arc of a Punisher with FCS lethal, as it should be considering what it cost.

Missile Barrage (Dual card)

After performing an attack that hits with a Missile or Torpedo (Maybe make it one that costs 4 points or less) you may perform an attack at another enemy ship at R1 of the defender, this attack cannot be modified except for the rules of the weapon you are using and ignores the Target Lock or Focus requirements, Then flip this card over

Reloading after your next opportunity to attack even if you don't have a target you may flip this card over

A good way to fix ordnance is make it to where you can't spend any tokens, change results or reroll dice when defending against them.

Cause I'm pretty sure it's REALLY HARD to avoid Homing Missiles.

Ordnance in general is OK; it's the TIE punisher that has a problem.

Also, buffing ordnance against high-agility fighters and leaving it unchanged vs larger, slower ships is bizarre thematically.

Now a title that was like Baze Malbus and let you attack two targets? That would be better as it spreads damage around, which is a natural control.

I'd prefer this as a double tap:

TIE Punisher Only. [Attack] After you perform a (torpedo) or (missile) attack, you may perform a primary weapon attack against the same target.

Gives them more offense without the abusive double ordnance strike. Not sure on cost, though. It's enough to give them a little extra kick without being too ridiculous. And depends on their having ordnance to spend, too.

What if, on the Punisher only, it could fire ordnance (Missiles and Torpedoes only) out of arc? Uber-turret but with obviously limited number of uses.

I thought the Tie Punisher fix was Unguided Rockets? It's perfect for the Tie Punisher.

Cheaper to run on a bomber. Running out of ammo isn't the problem with the punisher, it is the cost of the ship itself and it doesn't do the bombers job better for that cost.

Sure it's cheaper on a Bomber, but the Tie Punisher is a different beast. It's got more hits and it's got Boost that are different than the Tie Bomber. Also, it has System slot. Don't forget that it has 2 Bomb slots. Great to use the Bombs to better effect and just the Rockets for all attacks.

I don't see a problem.

Yes it has boost but unless you are running an upsilon or another ship to give it more actions it won't be able to fire the unguided rockets, it has more health but less agi toss lwf on a bomber with unguided and you have a harder ship to crack than a punisher with lwf. It has a system slot but really doesn't have anything special other than fcs and that is putting more points into a ship that is already over costed. Deathrain is the only punisher I can see being used in an competitive way. The punisher is a beast but it is a very sick beast that needs help

Yes, you can't fire the Rockets if you Boost, but sometimes having the option to Boost instead of firing the Rockets. I'll take it.

There are a number of systems that you can use.

  • Sensor Jammer
  • Advanced Sensor (get your Focus first)
  • Electronic Baffle
  • Collision Detector
  • Don't forget that new Bomb system that we don't know about. I'm sure this is going to rock for Tie Punishers.

Let it equip 2 mods, preferably with a -1 cost on each mod, and it'll be just fine. LWFrame really helps, but it needs guidance ships for ordnance.

Unless you give it Unguided Rockets, then it doesn't need GC.
