Thoughts?

Bombs are incredible assets against a lot of the meta, but there are some match ups where you are going to want some other type of damage. The two red dice you will get with each of those k wings is probably just not enough. If I were playing against this list I would fly to the outside taking pot shots from range three or two against that y wing. Staying away from bomb drops and only taking tlt shots in return.

If I was going to run something like this, it would be two tricked out K wings, one being Miranda, or three K wings with tlt, or Miranda with two Y wings all with tlt. You can even make one of the y wings a stress hog if you switch homing missiles on the regular Miranda build to plasma torps.

In fairness this is a modified version of the list with took 1st out of 58+ people at the Danvers, Mass regional at the end of last year. That list was 3 K-Wings, Seismic Charges, and Extra Munitions one with Sabine + Proxy, one with Chopper + Connar, and one with Cluster Mines.

It looks like it needs more attack dice but it toppled Dengaroo (before it got nerf batted) and Pentatoni (before it got nerf batted) and Emperor's Defenders (before it got nerf batted).

So far my toughest match up is Mirandash simply because of Miranda's shield region capacity - Dash dies frighteningly fast...

I strongly agree that fringe fighting is the best tactic against this list type, the issue is SLAM + Adv SLAM + Action Bombs make it very easy for you to get bombed even if you're maneuvering to stay at arm's length. The Y-Wing is my weakest point, hence why I kept the points off of it for the most part (only splurged 3 points for Thermals).

Thank you for your feedback!

Thank you.

Just played two games against a friend who (did not know my squad list before setting his up) flew:

Miranda Doni

K-Wing

  • Ion Bombs
  • Connar Net
  • Cluster Mines
  • Twin Laser Turret
  • Homing Missiles
  • Sabine Wren
  • Extra Munitions
  • Advanced SLAM

Warden Squadron Pilot

K-Wing

  • Cluster Mines
  • Connar Net
  • Extra Munitions
  • C-3PO
  • Advanced Slam

Round 1: I lost, killing his Warden Squadron Pilot and leaving Miranda at 1 hull and 1 shield.

Round 2: I lost...IN FINAL SALVO. My 6 dice came up: boom, boom, focus, focus, blank, and blank. His 4 dice came up: kaboom, kaboom, boom, and focus. *facepalm* The First Law of X-Wing: THE DICE HATE YOU.

All in all I am feeling pretty good about my list as is, my only temptation is to toss out BTL-A4.............

Can take off thermals and just add Proximity mines for more controlled damage, they are also nice at blocking flying lanes, Asajj likes going around the outside, just drop a proximity in a corner and she will have to turn into the middle. Also, chopper is a great crew choice on the second Kwing. You can fly over a debris and drop a mine, or if you do come against a stresshog, you can still get bombs off.

Could also take all the thermals down to seismics/ion bombs and lose bombadier for chopper, gives you 4 pts for autoblaster turrets on Kwings. Keeps aces like Fenn out of range 1.

Just some suggestions that have worked for me :)

I took 2nd of 11 with 4 rounds played.

I had 3 wins, 1 loss, and an MOV of 586. First place was 3 wins, 1 loss, and an MOV of 588.

Edit: Faced 1 list with Fenn, he died to bombs...fast... Enemy ships that are best when they get into Range 1 (and in arc) are the EASIEST to destroy with K-Wing bombers.
