I bought the Raider over a year ago and I'd like to complain it came with Emperor Palpatine. Pre-nerf he was expensive and boring; post-nerf he's expensive and boring. If the Raider hadn't of come with this stupidly popular card, which I used once and nearly died of boredom using it, I'm sure it would have been cheaper to buy. Despite having to pay the Palp tax t he Raider is amazingly fun to play with and an amazing model. A lso I got a bunch of cards to buff my TIE Advanced - now one of my favourite ships - and another TIE Advanced with a cool blue paint job. Still I am begrudged I had to pay extra for my Raider because of Palp. I am right to be upset?

Seriously, eBay. Bought palp only, no raider $25 one year ago.

I bet plenty of people would buy just the Raider on ebay.

I seem to remember another post where someone was bemoaning buying a Palpatine. Of course in that same thread someone kindly provided a breakdown of how much you could sell various Raider parts for on the black market/eBay and it was a good bit more than even the retail price of the epic ship.

Buy the Raider and sell off everything else would equal a FREE Palpatine. Either that or you just write customer service saying that you happen to be missing that one upgrade card because you happen to have dropped it on the floor and if FFG could sent you a replacement.

Not sure why Palp makes the play of a game any more or less boring . Of all the problems with Palp, him making gameplay boring is a weird one (though I could maybe get how he'd make list-building and meta diversity boring, but he doesn't seem to make a game involving Imp Aces any more or less boring than it already is/was).

I wonder how many people will groan about C-ROC once it comes out with everyone scampering after Jabba the Hutt since Scum is on top of the meta now.

Not really, when you bought it you knew what was in the pack and chose to make the purchase while it was easily available information that x wing has some rule changes from time to time.

Epic ships are simply awesome. A big chunk of SW. For 100 euros (or less) you get Vader's fighter and a mini destroyer. The biggest triangle shaped toy that you can play with. Very difficult to handle a bigger one (Except Nebulon B). Because we are talking about toys. Toys to play with doing pew pew or on a tabla and with dices and counters and rulebooks...

Raider is five stars. And CR 90. And Gozanti. And Transport. I hope C ROC will be the same, plus a future bigger 100 $ Scum Epic Ship.

And the upgrade cards, the pilots, scenarios...perhaps they will be good. Or mediocre. Or bad. The important thing here is the ship. I can write my own scenarios or upgrade cards. But I need these toys to play with

I believe that's why he started his thread... Never said the Raider isnt good for epic. But for someone who doesnt play epic, it's useless... Anyway ill stop there because i feel i might have been baited by a troll.

You are out of line mister. You got a beautiful $75 sleek Imperial death machine and a custom printed (and thematic) $25 Emperor Palpatine bookmark to use in the oft-referenced X-Wing FAQ.

Well, at least you got to use Palp and the TIE Advanced buffs.

I got a U-wing on its release and still can't find a reason to field that DoA large based B-wing with Crew upgrades couple orders of magnitude below the ones from HOTR or the Ghost expansions. Great model, though...

I already have a Raider so I'm good. Trying to sell the pieces is too much of a pain in my but and besides that if I was going to start selling off stuff I'd probably begin with my vintage collection of MtG.
