I'm new to watching digital and never have gotten a digital copy "provided" with the DVD version! Is it easy to do? If I can't watch the digital version provided by the DVD purchase through Googleplay or Amazon I'll just go digital.
Help please.

Digital copies don't have great picture quality. The blacks really become gunk. I bought the entire digital collection for Star Wars from Amazon and I'm not that satisfied.
It's pretty easy to do. We've got a small library of digital films, some of which were cashed in codes that came with the blueray/dvd we purchased. I must be getting old though, I prefer to have the physical disc than bits and bytes floating in the clouds. I've also had internet issues now and then that make watching online movies annoying, plus occasional trips to places with limited/no internet access... Yeah, my decision is made.

That said, I could not wait! I bought digital version. I'll pick up Blue Rays of everything one day.
I can't WAIT to watch R1 and then Ep4 back to back.
Digital is the priority for me, but if I can get a DVD for an extra $5 why not?
The big this is this: if I buy the DVD, does the digital copy play through Amazon or Googleplay..... or does it play through some retard other website? If it does I don't want it!
Does anyone know?
What would you watch it on? I watch it through the Amazon video app on my PS4/ iPhone.
Lately I've purchased the digital release in order to get my fix. When the eventual "super duper" release comes out on 3D/BluRay/DVD/Shadow Puppet, I pick that one up. It's worked well for me so far.
In this age of Instant/On Demand media & games I find myself watching the digital version more often than the Blu. I watch it off my Roku & the picture is great. (I'm not well versed in the top TV technologies, so your mileage may vary.)

I'm told it depends on the publisher.... We cashed Frozen and it came through google play.
While digital HD and HD streaming, is continually getting better, it's still not quite as good as blu ray, especially for sound. You can't get more than 5.1 usually, and it's almost never lossless format. Picture is very good, often better than HD cable, but again still not quite as good as blu ray.
So for movies I love, especially visual spectacles like Rogue One, it's blu ray all the way.
By the way, anyone know where we see the Ghost in the battle of Scarrif? Time code that is?
I like DVDs, but I also live in rural Georgia with bad internet. So....

Ooh, um. I've spotted it when the fleet arrives. Friday night I spotted it again flying by as the Admiral is looking out his scenic viewing tower. Actual time codes though, I can't help you so much.
Buy the DVD/Blu Ray/Digital for 20 when it comes out, Sell on ebay whatever you don't want which brings the costs down.
I end up selling most of my digital codes for movies and make back about 50% of the costs, which I use to purchase more ships with.
Edited by CubanboyI never bought a digital movie, I do however have some codes from DVD/Blu Rays and used them and they were ok for when I'm in hospital.
