Unnerfed my defenders. This is something.

This played well to tonight.let me know what y'all think...

Dormitz upsilon, hyperspace comscanner. Kylo shuttle.

Ryad, veteran instinct,x7

Vessery, adaptability x7.

Commscan the shuttle to ps 6 placement...Set up across but off a bit as needed for your future path.

Place vessery pointed down a clear lane..He takes an evade

Place ryad same...Takes an evade.

Dormitz moves to them.. Coordinate a focus to ryad.

Ryad launched 5 forward...Another evade from x7 ...Take a target lock on whatever moved

Vessery launched 5 forward...X7 for the second evade takes a focus.

Both defenders on target with double evade and focus and locks...Turn ONE.

Vaporise whatever wiggled. Turn two ram the shuttle in there.

Then..After k turn what's left has defenders behind it and a upsilon in front.

FA-Q to the FAQ. ...Two defenders double evaded ,focused and locked on turn one.its.....Good.

I expect to still eat mud vs. bomb lists but ....Dayum!

One example...Not ideal( started cleanup phase so the TL tokens are being scooped but....You can get an idea of what you want position wise for going into turn two....

Also of note is the gaping hole where his 4th ship was.

Teroch jousts you kills your entire token stack, laughs. Mira shoots a homing missile at you ignores your evades, laughs. Or just bombs you.

It's a solid build but not without its weaknesses.

Having trialled Dormitz-and-pals in various formats myself I'm not sure the alpha strike is worth having a third of your list unengaged in the first fight. Not to mention that a canny opponent can set up to cut and run from it, especially with higher PS, at which point a lot of your investment wasn't worth investing in.

If they are running I'm ok with that too, they are either running into the shuttle or I'm chasing them away. Definitely teroch and Jax etc. Are a hindrance.

Just because you HAVE the option to infiltrate doesn't mean you HAVE to. If they have Old Teroch or Homing Miranda, then just deploy more conservatively and try to take the key threat with all three ships. Note, too, that with the HCS you have the option to deploy at PS12, making Dormitz great at counter-deploying in a pinch.

The main problem I've seen is that if the opponent has a higher PS model, they can deploy it to counter yours, and excellent asteroid placement can also foil your turn one plan.

I played against this yesterday, it was a neat concept. You like dormitz shenanigans more than I do. Against a better pilot than me you may hit some more troubles (like someone playing into the alpha when using teroch instead of hitting range two).

I personally would rather use the dormitz points to have a bully that runs with the ships instead of behind. He got one relevant round of shooting then was stressed and maneuvering the rest of the game. Overall seemed a pricey gimmick.

You flew it really well though.
