Hi, just wanted to check a couple of things please to make sure I'm reading it correctly.

Targeting Astromech - If I perform a red move is the target lock for free or is it an action?

If I equip the targeting astromech on ARC-170 pilot Braylen Stramm can I perform a red move, receive a target lock for free?, then use her ability to try and remove the stress and then perform a focus?.

Yes.

And because they trigger at the same time you can use either ability first, Targeting Astromech doesn't care if you're stressed, only that the maneuver you performed was red.

Acquiring a targetlock is essentially the same thing as assigning a token, the only difference being you still have to check range for the TL while the tokens are just given to you anyway.
Neither are an action, neither care about stress. I dont think ANYTHING except the action bar targetlock is actually considered an action iirc.
