Hi everyone !

By Elrad, in Runewars Miniatures Game

Hey there,

I know this topic is pretty useless, but I did want to say Hi to everyone here and wish that everything's going well for all of you. I'm pretty absent from this forum now and it won't change till...well... half may. By the time I hope my retailer will open his pre-orders but don't have many hopes to put my hands on the game at the same time as you. Even if some lucky guys had a great opportunity at Adepticon as I read somewhere. So yes, I've nothing really interesting to say about the game so I don't say anything. But I just wanted to come by abecause I feel good being among you, reading those now numerous posts you wirte with love :)

That said, my attention being focused on my doctorate thesis I will give it all I have to get my scholarship. If everything goes well I'll be on the doctorate thesis train for three long years :). Hopefully, women Runewars (no guys, this is a JOKE, not an insult towards women nor a sexist comparison :D) will be there to entertain my overloaded mind and body ^^ As I'll be in Paris (hopefully), I hope I will find a group or a store to play at and maybe go to some events or tournaments. Who knows ?

Meanwhile, I'll be sticking with you guys because as I mentioned somewhere else, when it was winter and I was hardly ill and in a sad mood, I could find here a very nice community to share everything and nothing about our beloved game and other pretty interesting stuffs. Therefore,I'm grateful to you to have welcomed me so friendly. I hope i'll meet some among you in the real life one day (@jek and @Muz333, when do we do this ?). Thanks to many among you for your precious advices. I hope one day I'll be able to be the provider of something useful instead of leaking everything from the others.

Allright my friends, I wish you good game and have fun with whatever you're playing at/with (already Runewars for some among you)

all the best for all of you !

Elrad

Good luck on your thesis!

Ditto! Good luck on finishing your doctoral degree. You're a better man than I am. I'm trying to finish my doctoral dissertation this year and should be spending way less time on the forums than I am. -_-

Good luck, although I really can't imagine someone as crazy as you with a doctor title :P

I just handed in the final corrections for my doctoral thesis last week. While I enjoyed many aspects of my PhD it was also some of the worst times of my life. No holiday for four years, working up to 110 hours a week, the stress of getting the data to submit papers in time for deadlines and the sheer depression when experiments offer no good results for weeks on end where you know only failure.

Anyway, all the best. It's certainly a journey! In fact, I got to meet a couple of NASA employees in London which was cool.

Was wondering where you were...good to hear from you! Don't work too hard!?

thanks guys, I love you all :).

@Budgernaut I'm in no case a better man than you, this is nonsense for once coming from you (No, you won't steal the "nonsense talker" title from me, it's my precious, you hear ? :D). I am a man like billions of others with his good and less good sides. I treat you as an equal don't treat me as being somehow "better" than you. After all I'm impressed at all you can bring us for information about gaming...

And I take this opportunity to share my bad feeling sometimes when I read your most precise posts. I mean, so many among you are really better gamers than I am. An example : a friend of mine who's not at all into games. I taught him once how to play Netrunner. After telling him the rules, He was able to recall me the rules every time He saw me making a wrong move.... I was amazed. I mean, I owe the game, I read the rules like hundred times (no not so much there are deeper reading out there far more interesting for my mental health...) and I was beat in terms of concentration and memory by a rookie... :D So I'm beat here when I saw all of you guys with your charts, your deep analyses... It's time for me to become a better gamer... :P

That being said, @Muz333, in History we a different stress to suffer from : we don't experiment like in Chemistry or physics, but we can read countless books and articles for nothing, learning stuffs at the same times but loosing sight of our goal... And yes we meet also interesting peoples. Say, I have three years @Iceeagle85 to be Doctor Craziness :D.

Thanks @jek and @Joker2007 Don't worry I won't die from working but from playing games.... I'm working on a "personal campaign" for my waiqar's . when finished, I'll share it here with you as well as painted pictures of my minis (we have time, don't worry, the ugliness won't fall on this forum any soon ^^). While Daqans are a pretty generic-looking faction (and Undeads too when you consider it from very far), I can't wait for the mounted Hawthorn mini to be released, because a cavalry charge with him in the front line guiding his men...it will still have its effect !... :).

thanks to all to be who you are. Wish you all the best ;-)

@Elrad In microbiology we also had to read countless papers and books. I had to read a book on Java programming and another book on chaos and nonlinear dynamics. Nothing more painful as a biologist than learning mathematics and programming but I got there and built a clever experimental platform for my microfluidics using a Raspberry Pi to control the bipolar stepper motors.
