Your podcast was a very good listen, as always.
I'm curious as to your opinion on the frequently occurring Agnes question: What Relic do you use? Agnes has access to some really excellent options including the Amulet of Hyperborea, The Rabbit's Foot, and the Holy Rosary. I've not played Agnes since I picked up Essex County Express and got access to Relic Hunter, is anyone playing a Relic Hunter Agnes? If I'm being honest, I usually drop down whichever Relic I happen to draw first, but if I do have a choice, I think I slightly favor the Rosary for the Willpower boost.
As a side note which is not really about Agnes- I quite like Forbidden Knowledge on Jim! It's true he doesn't get quite the benefit of Agnes, but if he can get his Trumpet into play then he can heal Horror damage rather consistently, allowing him to net 4 resources out of Forbidden Knowledge for very little real cost.
I've definitely made use of the Fire Axe/ Forbidden Knowledge combo as well, I just love it. And Painkillers as well, which I think is a tremendous card for both of our Mystic characters so far (and cheap too!).
Overall Agnes can be a little vulnerable in my opinion for the beginning of the game while she tries to set herself up. You mentioned she has a lot of high resource cost cards, and she really has not much of an easy way to generate income (forbidden Knowledge aside, since you'd rather use that for damage most of the time). That can make for a slow start at the beginning when you have a poor combat stat and a poor Lore stat and are trying to get the spells down to help you out. And she can easily get caught in "the axe hole" during that time, but once she has a few cards down and can rely consistently on her 5 (or better) willpower, she's a powerhouse!
Thanks for another great cast!

Thank you kindly for those nice words. Always good to read your thoughts; thanks again for taking the time to write. I like the accessory question a lot - perhaps this was a slight gap in our discussion. I'm actually sorely tempted to try a relic-hunter Agnes build, probably with rosary and rabbit's foot, and relying on arcane initiate for spells. Perhaps upgrading to Sylvestre II - I've not decided yet. I definitely am a keen fan of the rosary, anyway, particularly as a possible horror overflow which Agnes always likes, so there's no harm, in a way, of running both. It's certainly great to have 7 willpower with Pete and Rosary both down. At that point, does the rabbit's foot have a role to play? Maybe you want the heirloom and rosary as your optimal set up.
I agree about the slower start for her, too. With all willpower-replacement effects (ie, spells), you have to find the card before it can get to work replacing. I do think mystics are better set than most to deal with the encounter deck as they set up (scrying ((whatever one things the merits of that card are)), ward of protection) but they can't really contribute to fighting/investigating - at least, Agnes really can't - until some pieces are in place. Definitely anything that cheapens the cost of setting up spells will be a boon, and seeing the heirloom early, allowing for a really decent draw 'engine', is delightful.
Thanks again for commenting and catch you soon! Or, indeed, tomorrow for the next episode.
