I was able to upgrade my badge on Thursday, and get a copy. I had a friend try and do the same thing on Friday, but he was shot down. Stinks that they weren't able to keep track throughout the weekend, but maybe they didn't have a real idea of what no-show numbers would look like until Sunday morning?

Quite possibly, varied from day to day and person to person as to what they knew and the approach they took it seems. Regardless, I'm not sweating it -- I have a small mountain of minis to assemble and a buddy eager to play. I won't dare complain about that. :)

The decision to sell additional upgrades on Sunday was made Sunday morning, and discussed between FFG staff and their contact on the Adepticon staff.

I was running events for FFG as part of their Flight Crew, and was definitely hoping for the chance to get a copy of Runewars. When I bought my copy on Sunday (well when I paid $25 to "upgrade" to a premium badge), the staff members working the counter seemed a bit unprepared and not quite clear on what was going on.

I guess what I'm saying is please don't feel like Adepticon lied to you. They honestly weren't expecting to offer upgrades again until very shortly before they did.

I heard various things...that people on Friday were allowed to upgrade, but more on Saturday were not. Likely it was a fluid situation, and we went on Sunday prepared to be told no, in which case I would have bought my daughter a weekend badge with full swag upgrade if allowed. As it was, the bag we got was not full (missing some of the cooler items, including the PP rulebook and limited figure boxes, but it compensated with extra G&G brushes, so I'm pretty ok with that).

We'll be using both our sets, as I think we're ready to go all in on this game. My son and I played our way through the D&D Attack Wing campaign, and he seriously wants to use RMG as a way to play through Runewars Board Game battles...I'm not quite sure I share that desire, but I have to admit that it sounds way cool.

Yeah, I agree with this 100%. I don't think that anything malicious was done by anyone at Adepticon or FFG. Like I said before, it would have been nice if my friend was able to pick up a copy on Friday, but I understand the logistical nightmare it must have been.

Thank you for the explanation Rowdy. I wouldn't feel they lied, more just were inconsistent, but again, that is fully ok now. i run events for a living and Adepticon would be no easy task. It was a spectacular convention. And Deep dish Pizza, Polish Food then insanely delicious mac & cheese + good beer at a Death metal restaurant sealed the icing on the cake about returning next year. chicago was a blast.

My stuff arrives tomorrow (I had to mail it home). Thanks again to all of you for the generosity. cheers to everyone on this thread for letting me vent. Painted pics on the way ASAP!

Wow. I registered on site on Friday and I didn't even think to ask if I could upgrade. Good for those of you who did.

They were sold out of upgrades by 5 pm on Thursday, anyway. The original intention was to only sell 1200.
