Tie Fighters, X-wing, Y-Wing, Falcon and Slave 1 and the likes.

Later releases made the theme feel too diluted.

Future expansions should have just been upgrades and pilots.

It depends, the hard core x-wing fans will know where it all comes from. I'd be happy with everything from the tie fighter pc game. Wave XI has nothing for me bar upgrade cards

Seriously, an X-wing game without Bombers and B-wings!? Honestly, I think I could get on board with stopping at wave 3. The game wasn't well balanced back then but there is not a ship that came out after wave 3 that I would really miss.

Wave 3 would be the perfect stopping point purely for theme. I'd be curious to see how a wave 3 meta would look with upgrades like Guidance chip.

It also would have died shortly after wave 2.

Anyway. I love Battleflet Gothic even more than xwing, and is a dead game. But I play lots more xwing, because, well, BFG is a dead game.

So I think if xwing had stoped the diversity of ships in wave 2, I would still love it, but it would be another dead game.

I prefer it alive and triumphant, like now.

It's most probably a typical shadow345 troll thread. Look up her/his posting history. Typically (s)he starts a thread with a provoking title and content, but then never answers in the thread, probably sitting somewhere munching popcorn and just observing.

As a potentially useful thought experiment. If a store ran an event that allowed any and all upgrade cards but only ships from wave 1-3, would you be interested? Would there be anything that could compete with a well-flown TIE swarm?

Wave three ships with Chaardan, Tie/X1, Integrated Astro, BTL-A4 etc. sounds like a whole lot of fun to me. BUT, Fat Han and Tie Swarm are probably the only truly competitive lists.

This. Step one, post inflammatory topic header to draw people in. Step two, write a short negative sentence or paragraph in said topic to stir people even more up. Step three, watch the fireworks.

This is ridiculous.

Clearly the game would have been far better if it had stayed an idea. Pure and unmolested by the hands of men. Putting them into physical form was the worst thing that could have ever happened.

I was thinking about this last night. What if every new ship that came out also came with a bonus 2 pilot cards for a previous ship of the same faction to help keep them caught up. Some examples:

Lancer with 2 Firespray Cards

Tie FO with 2 Basic Tie cards

T-70 with 2 T-65 cards

I wish blocking a user blocked the threads they start too.

Wave 3 was brilliant! The B-wing is my absolute favorite ship.

I think 4TLT would keep Fat Han in check. Crack Swarms can chew through 4TLT. NewPalp (R) doesn't scare me too bad. I think I would be happy with wave 3 ships and open upgrades.

What ships from wave 4+ would you miss the most?

Yeah, my gut feeling is that it'd be wall-to-wall Fat Han and Crackswarms.

I just wish they did not release so often new ships. Otherwise - is great!
