Han Solo & Chewbacca build

By MasterKazur, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Hey guys.

I'm one of those cats you like to stat out the iconic characters from the movies. Mostly just for fun, but also to give my players and their characters a soft benchmark to meassure up against. So in the spirit of that I took the Lando and Lobot stats from The Jewel of Yavin Adventure module and cooked up some equivalent Han Solo and Chewbacca ones.

Just thought I would share them, should anybody need them.

Have a good one, guys! :)

PS: Sorry about the quality, I was only allowed to post a picture of a certain size.

Han Solo, one of the most wanted smuggler of the galaxy, with only 3 in cunning... I stopped to read at that point.

Well, if you think about it, he's actually NOT very cunning. He keeps getting into trouble and he's not very good at talking his way out of it. He's a great smuggler because he's a great pilot and he certainly has Presence which helps him continue to be Charming and sometimes Negotiate to stay alive. But, he tends to shoot his way or fly his way out of his problems and not actually Deceive people...

So yeah, I can believe these stats and run with them...

Thanks for this, Kazur!

Yeah, I guess Cunning could be swapped with Presence, but then people would say "one of the most charismatic people in the galaxy, with only 3 in presence etc.".

Keep in mind that this is Han from Episode IV, where he couldn't have been that wanted. I mean Jabba sent Greedo (not Fett who was there) to bring him in for a talk, and when Jabba did talk to him, he basically let him go and extended his debt.

Wouldn't it be fair to say that it was only after Episode IV, when he failed to deliver the money that Jabba starting sending the big boys after him and he had to "up" his cunning game? Even still he does have 2 ranks in Convincing Demeanor and some pretty good Cunning-based skills :)

Thanks for the feedback.

You're very welcome.

Glad you like 'em.

For what it's worth, that IS, definitely, a catch vest he's wearing. If you read the description, it's basically saying "Han Solo's vest" in so many words.

Well, if he had a good cunning, he wouldn't be wanted now would he?

His Range Light should be 4.

And here come all the reasons why ffg decided not to stat known characters. Fwiw I like it.

That's certainly within reason :) I came it from the point of view that if he had 4 ranks by Episode IV (along with a 4 Agility), he wouldn't really have room to grow.

Thanks, Syrath :) I'm considering doing some more of these types of stat blocks.

....You didn't notice in EP IV the time he totally missed the Stormtroopers in docking bay 94 and instead hit the underside of the Falcon...

No...No I'm not kidding. When you're in high school, and discover the frame advance button on the VCR you learn worthless trivia like that....

Nitpicking aside Kazur did alright... From a certain point of view ;)

There are certainly stories where all the heroes are stupidly skilled in everything and equivalent of characters with many years of regular xp, but I'm not sure that Star Wars (episodes IV-VI at least) are those. Instead the heroes often win by appeals to emotion, luck and bravado rather than ability (or the Force, of course, in a handful of cases) - and indeed frequently lose!
