Have you tried the striker? A tricked out Duchess may be better than a royal guard, but otherwise it looks fun enough.

If the theme is PTL, a Striker is a bad idea, PTL turns off their Ailerons.

Inquisitor with PtL, Autothrusters and title is 31 points, and substantially better than your Royal Guard. Maybe worth changing Karnor Jax's Hull Upgrade to Twin Ion Mk2 to fit Inquisitor.
