If figuring out how to assign the automatic dials is too much for you, then you can always treat your dials as decks of cards and memorize the simple movement commands. br1 for bank right one speed, tr3t for turn right 3 speed talon roll, xrb for barrel roll right all the way back, etc.
Bomb dropping is automated now, and the game will give you a text notification when a ship has overlapped an asteroid.
Steam has sales all the time and even if you're impatient the $20 it costs his well worth it. The community is friendly and will be more than happy to help you learn TTS. People have even made promo cards in the game.
Assigning dials is even easier now. I hadn't used TTS in a couple months cuz was just too busy and when I used it last week I was amazed at the improvements. It was very easy before, now it is super easy. Seems like a bunch more people are online too.
