A B X - does this list suck?

Hi there. I'm playing a casual-ish tournament and have no intention of placing in the top 50%. However, I do want to make sure I'm not making a major oversight here and misunderstanding, and that this list doesn't totally suck.

I'm not a fan of secondaries. Almost always leave me disappointed, and take up too many points. So, if you're a fan of them you can take this with a grain of salt:

Dropping the ordnance gives you enough points for R2-D2. If you don't give Wedge a regen ability, he'll be dead so fast. It's happened to me so many times. Even though Mangler is more expensive than calculation, you'll want to hold on to your focus to chance all your dice to hits, not just the one uncanceled crit.

I personally love BB-8 on wedge. If you are going to do ordnance, chips with plasmas on Ten would be fun. If you are going to do prockets on Tycho I would recommend VI of Lightning reflexes. I don't think any of my suggestions will make your list amazing, but they will be fun if that's what you are going for

If you do like missiles, then for the B-Wing, consider Nera Dantels, Advanced Sensors, 2x Flechette Torpedoes, Deadeye, Guidance Chips. Outside of the K-Wing, I think that's the best ordnance delivery the rebels can muster. Plus, the stress inducement of the flechettes is super helpful against aces and arc dodgers.

Speaking of which, Tycho is great, but with the points you save on Nera and dropping the missles from Tycho, you could go with a fully tricked out Jake Farrell instead: Chardaan Refit, Test Pilot, Push the Limit, Veteran Instincts and Autothrusters.

That gives you 39 points to max out wedge: RP59, Push the Limit, Auto Thrusters. I like RP-59 better than R2-D2 for the old X-Wings since they just don't have the selection of green maneuvers that more arc-dodging type of fighters have.

In any case, this list comes out to 98 points, which you can either stay at to get a jump on initiative, or look for a 2 point torpedo for Wedge. Seismic torpedo could actually be a neat choice for him to thin a swarm or clear an asteroid from an otherwise perfect shot while doing a little extra damage to boot.

Thanks guys. All great suggestions. I don't have some of these cards, and as I said, not a 'winning' list but a lot of fun to play as a 'hanger bay' alternate. But it is great food for thought!

Wedge has some really fun builds, but at the end of the day they all have the same disease. Strain T-65.

The most consistent B-wing ace is Keyan Farlander. Nera and Ten Numb both cost too much to equip effectively. Keyan with Opportunist or Rage/E2/Inspiring Recruit. Always give Keyan Collision Detector and use debris clouds for obstacles.

In A-wings, Jake is better than Tycho for one reason: Jake can turn around. Jake with VI, Title, PtL and Autothrusters is one of the best arc dodgers in the game. Chardaan Refit if you need to trim points, but I recommend Homing Missile or Proton Rockets.

Tycho or Jake with prockets is mighty. Five dice attack with retools and focus? Yes please :)
