Crits and Redo Moves

By Viktus106, in X-Wing Rules Questions

If you dial in a white hard turn and stressed and then when executing your move you happen to either go over a Cluster mine or Debris Field which deals you a crit that makes all turn moves red, what happens?

For example, Inquisitor is stressed and dials in a green turn, clips a cluster, takeso a crit and now all turn moves are red. Does he complete the move as a red and simply gain a second stress?

Additionally, if you weren't stressed and received that crit, do you still receive a stress token?

I totally answered a question that wasn't asked. Vander has it right. Leaving the rules quote.

FAQ, pg 6:

'Revealing Red Maneuvers
When a player reveals a red maneuver for a stressed ship, the only card
effects he may resolve are those that change the maneuver to a different
one (Adrenaline Rush, Navigator, etc.). After resolving these effects, if the
ship would still be executing a red maneuver, the owner moves the ship as
if it were assigned a white [STRAIGHT 2] maneuver instead. The speed, bearing, and
difficulty of this maneuver cannot be changed.'

If you hit the debris or mine during the maneuver, you'd complete it as normal (whatever color you dialed). If you get a debris or mine dropped on oyur head before you move, WWHSD's quote kicks in

Thanks guys.

So when does the bomb "detonate" because if it's immediately, wouldn't that be prior to the ship completing the move I. E changing the difficulty?

Just want be sure!

I'm not sure what you're getting at here exactly...

If someone drops a Proximity Mine (or other similar bomb) on your stressed ship before it activates, your ship suffers a crit that makes it's turns red, and then reveals a turn: your ship effectively revealed a red maneuver while stressed and will be forced to perform a white 2 straight.

If your stressed ship performs a hard turn and the maneuver template overlaps a Proximity Mine (or other similar bomb) while performing the maneuver : the effect of the critical damage does not affect the difficulty of the maneuver.

Since you revealed a white or green maneuver you execute that maneuver. Once you suffer the Damaged Engine crit you now treat the maneuver as red.

The check pilot step will see a red maneuver and deal you another stress. Check pilot stress does not state that you check the difficulty of the maneuver when it was revealed. By the time you cent the critical is in effect.

Thanks all, much appreciated.

It's worth noting that in your original example cluster mines can't deal crits. They deal normal damage on a role of hit or crit while a prox mine deals normal damage on hits and crit damage on crit rolls

Wow.

They were changed so that they do damage on crits now instead of just hits but it is regular (face down) damage not critical damage even when a crit is rolled. Prox mines do infilct critical (face up) damage when crits are rolled on them.

They're already better than Proximity Mines after the change, no need to do even more damage!
