blast and door

By emp1975, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

hello...

if i shoot to a door and i active the blast ability...Does the blast ability influence the space adjacent the door or the space adjacent the targeted space (that is a space adjacent at the door)?

NB

I know that with blast ability i can hit the space further the door only if i destroy it.

I'm not sure what you are asking. Blast does not affect spaces.

Blast affects figures and objects adjacent to the target space other than the original target.

For ranged attacks that target a door, the target space is the empty space the door occupied for you to draw line of sight and determine the required accuracy.

I think the question is whether Blast effects figures and objects adjacent to the door or adjacent to the empty target space for the door.

I think your answer, if I understand correctly, covered it. When attacking a door (ranged) you target an empty space, Blast effects figures and objects adjacent to the empty space.

Is does create an interesting situation where you're essentially blasting a figure not adjacent to the target object. A melee character (without reach) would be too far to attack the door but close enough to be hit by Blast.
