Squadron Benchmark, new features

By deniswings, in X-Wing Squad Lists

After a few months of work, a new version of Squadron benchmark is out:

http://xws-bench.github.io/bench

There's a squad builder and a simulator, in your browser. For a fast test of your builds, in less than 15min. Now it also integrates some simple scenarios you can play, against an AI. Nearly all wave 10 units and upgrades.

The squad builder has some unique features, such as the "hitmap" showing in a picture the jousting capabilities of the pilot, combining 1 maneuver and 1 action before 1 shoot. For instance, the Green Squadron Pilot( no upgrade here) hitmap : the red cross shows the initial position of the pilot. The white cross, the position of an Academy Pilot, the target. Moving the pointer to the white cross shows that the GSP has 72% to hit the Academy Pilot after a 3 straight and TL (best % possible here). The other colored pixels of the plot show the % for different positions of the Academy Pilot. hitmap.jpg.3aaa9c86c678cdd22743cb745211b865.jpg

For a "secret trench" scenario, I'm interested in how many turns it takes, and what is your fastest ship to finish the scenario.

Cheers!

EDIT : corrected the link above !

Link at the top of your post doesn't work.

This could cause a dangerous drop in my productivity at work tonight...

Question regarding Snap Shot. When the opportunity arises, it's letting me fire with a choice of my primary or my cannon (running it on a Vessery /D). Any way to segregate that ability from regular fire options?

I beat the Red 5 trench run with Corran Horn on turn 8. It was the trench run with a turn limit of 12 and I was running:

Corran: PtL, FCS, R2-D2, Engine (48)

Corran was WAY too fast for Vader. He never never even got close. I'll try it with Luke next to see if he is a better Red 5 than Corran. ;)

Luke: Lone Wolf, R2-D2, Engine (38)

Snap Shot was having issues for me as well. Never used it before in real life either, so I didn't know it was supposed to be Range 1 only. I seemed to able to use it beyond R1, but more likely as NadedDex noted, it was probably using the range from my primary weapon.

Also after a while, Snap Shot kept triggering, but wouldn't let me resolve the shot (just skip) nor allow me to make regular shots during the Combat Phase, so I aborted the game.

Good to see the site updated, by the way.

What an amazing update! Thank you.

Bugs I noticed (do you want bug reports here?):

(On Safari, not sure if you support that.)

Dengar's ability didn't seem to work (or I couldn't figure out how to activate it. Clicking on Dengar didn't do anything, and only R5-P9 came up). Dengar's Hotshot Copilot activated on Guri's attacks as well, until he died. At one point, a TIE Defender's collision logged as with Guri even though it was with another TIE Defender.

Having a lot of fun!

This is good. Thanks! now I need to update my booksmarks again and remove the ynot one :D

btw, as soon as Anything with M9-G8 moves, it freezes the simulator and does not allow to do an action, nor press Next to skip a phase.

Noticed a problem with Operations Specialist too. Everything is fine until I miss an attack, which should trigger OpSpec, but it freezes instead.

Amazing work as per usual. Just wondering if you're aware that Adaptive Ailerons doesn't work as intended? When you're stressed it appears you're still forced to do the 1-speed manoeuvre.
