How do you this semi-janky (I think) list would do against competitive builds?

By LifeGain, in X-Wing Squad Lists

The Inquisitor with PTL, Tie/v1, and Autothrusters
"Quickdraw" with Adaptability, FCS, Sensor Cluster, Lightweight Frame, and Special Ops Training
Carnor Jax with PTL, Royal Guard TIE, Autothrusters, and Twin Ion Engine Mk. 2

Total: 98

I feel like this list is super hard to pin down (but has two fragile ships) and with them all being pilot skill 8 or above, they are usually moving last. I would take Carnor or Inquisitor in the endgame any day, and I think that they could hold up super well if they survive the first couple of rounds. Quickdraw can also move up to pilot skill 10 if need be or down to 8 so that I can coordinate all their actions together. This list can also dish out firepower with the potential for 15 hits (if everyone is within range 1[not counting an attack from front and back for "Quickdraw"]). Two ships with Autothrusters will also help greatly against TLT and these ships can control range fairly well. Carnor feels like a good meta call with Attanni being popular. I decided to kit "Quickdraw" out to get as much defensive capability as I can and try and manipulate it so that I only lose one shield at a time. Let me know how you guys think it would do or if you have any comments feel free to share them!

With practice, your list can do well. But it will take a lot of practice. More than I have patience for, good sir. Go for it!

I don't think Carnor is going to do you any favours, really. His fragility has gone from being unfortunate to terrifying in today's game.

For the cost, I actually think Vessery sits in there really well. If you drop Sensor Cluster (which I've never seen be all that useful, honestly), you can chuck in an /x7 Vessery with 3 points to spare. To me, that's shouting Lone Wolf in this list, or simply Juke, but if you want to keep everyone at PS8 or higher, go for VI.
He synergises well with the amount of target locks you'll have anyway, and he's durable. The VI option leaves you with 2 points left, which is a nice bid, or you could drop Adaptability for Draw Their Fire, and trigger Quickdraw's ability on your own terms for a potential double tap.

Another option more durable than Carnor (and a late game monster) is Omega Leader. OL's inclusion opens up a lotof points though, which can actually cause merry mayhem here. Throw Stealth Device onto OL to shore up the defence even further, then give Expertise to Quickdraw so that your focus token will always be available for defence (and so you can modify on every attack, front and back), or with Sensor Cluster. Heck, you could even switch SC for Pattern Analyser for those sweet hard 1s and s-loops with an action (and still have a bid).
This makes everyone ridiculously hard to pin down early on, and they can all function totally independently. Worth considering, at least.
