Runewars The Miniatures Game - Step by step through the box with close ups of tokens, basses, trays, miniatures and all three books.
BoLS Unboxing
very nice look at the everything, thank you!
I liked the addition of hobby tips in the Getting Started booklet.
Finally a good look at the components of the minis...I'm pretty excited again...
Everything is awesome..
The only thing that fails me is that theres only One way to assemble the minis. Whats the point in let you mount them if you cannot choose at least the momentum of harm?
very nice video now i can resume the terrain production with confidance

i think its for those who like to paint miniature parts before assembly

They are multi part to cast to make them easier, you would have worse mould lines and less detail with single piece casts.. The one way assembly is for new players. Experienced hobbyists can easily cut the pegs off and reposition things.

QFT, beat me to the same answer.
I've re-posed plenty of FFG's figures at this point. It's really not that bad.
You can't *just* use the hot/cold water technique for the bigger changes, you also have to make wedge-shaped cuts to remove material or make gaps, then fill with greenstuff, but it's really not that hard to do, and the softer PVC is incredibly easy to drill for pinning.
Learning to sculpt with green stuff is a must if you're going to make bigger changes as well.

And a good skill in general for the miniature hobbyist.
I have to say, the hobby section is inspiring.
With the number of people I've seen moan/groan about not wanting to use unpainted miniatures, it's good to see FFG now has segments devoted to hobbying like *certain* companies *used* to before they started selling their own terrain.

Man those were the days when GW had terrain articles in their magazine or on their website.
This video is extremely exciting, also it was nice to see a video from people that seem genuinely excited about the game for once...

People who had at least a passing familiarity with FFG products reviewing FFG products was a nice change of pace from the last few unboxings.
I'm impressed that Ardus is a multi-part model ... I really thought he'd be the same figure as Descent with an extra hole in the base...

isnt there a size difference between these and descent?

I thought they were the same, more or less, but seeing the multi-part Ardus I'm curious.
At the very least I expected it to be in line with the "larger" Descent scale (Descents scale changed to Heroic after a certain point in the line)... maybe it's larger...
I'm really impressed with the miniatures as I thought I would be. FFG fails to disappoint in that area recently.
i love the size of the terrain and that they are really specific rules wise. Looking forward to new and varied types with the expansions.
I also noticed what I think is a turn counter dial, attention to detail is fantastic, they pretty much cover all bases really well.
impressed, can't wait to play. Hoping someone does a playthrough video pretty soon.

Good catch. There is a gray dial that goes 1-8.
We finally learn a bit more about the game and creating armies! 200 points looks to be the limit, unless you and your opponent desire more. You don't have to have a hero lead your army but you can only include 1 unique unit per 100 points so you can't just go wild with heroes.
A few cool rule tidbits are in the video too. First, you can shoot enemies engaged with allies. allies suffer a severity-1 morale test. This fits with the Waiqar nicely. Secondly, there's no bonus action when a unit enters terrain and it's activation immediately ends. Third, your exhausted upgrades only ready with a rally action or inspiration token.

That is the turn counter and initiative token it gets passed to your oppenent at the end of every round.
Also no map in the lore booklet, I'm sad now.

Still prefer no map myself, but then perhaps I love the RWBG too much.
Nice to have a high enough quality video to be able to read some of the text:
- Pre measuring is ok at any time with the range ruler, but not with the movement templates
- Overlapping Obstacles, Enemy units and the board edge(!) works the same as overlapping enemy ships in X-Wing (you slide backwards along the movement template until you're touching)
- You can only enter a terrain piece if the unit has equal or less trays than the Capacity value of the terrain piece
- When attaching a hero to a unit, the figure simply replaces a "generic" figure, and when/if defeated is replaced by a generic figure.
- Core Set only battles mandate using units from the other players core set and use special "Skirmish Rules" (sadly these are on page 21 of the rulebook - a page that they skipped)

A lot of Descent models are multi-part, but it being a boardgame, they come pre-assembled for you. As mentioned, there are certain physical limitations regarding what you can and can not cast as one piece.
