Your favorite list.

Sunday fun thread. What's your favorite list to fly right now and why? Tourney? Casual? Janky? It doesn't matter. There's no right or wrong answers. What is it and why do you enjoy it so much?

My fav right now ...

"Whisper" — TIE Phantom 32
Veteran Instincts 1
Fire-Control System 2
Hotshot Co-pilot 4
Advanced Cloaking Device 4
Ship Total: 43
Colonel Vessery — TIE Defender 35
Juke 2
Stealth Device 3
TIE/x7 -2
Ship Total: 38
Scimitar Squadron Pilot — TIE Bomber 16
Darth Vader 3
TIE Shuttle 0
Ship Total: 19

I've gone 5-0 with this list @ my local game stores the last few months. It particularly eviscerates popular 1 agi ships like Rey. Peeps look @ the "Doom" bomber and say "Huh?" or "You're brave." They either go after the Scimitar first like a mini Biggs (go ahead, it's 19pts and 6 hull and I'm keeping him @ range 3) or they ignore him trying to instead get Vessery to spend his evade so he can't push damage through w/ Juke which SD makes harder to do. With FCS and HotCop on Whisper, Vessery's damage output is very consistent and I usually have no problem focus firing through shields by the time Vader is ready to "send his regards". Plus, w/ the 5K on the bomber, Vader can re-position pretty well. It bleeds some MOV because the Scimitar is most likely going to die but it's fricking hilarious. Even beat a "Kylo" build where my opponent couldn't get the crit landed on Whisper.

I'm not an Imperial flyer, so I've just been casually playing this list against friends who play mostly Rebels:

(99)

"Duchess" (29) - TIE Striker
Expertise (4), Adaptive Ailerons (0), Lightweight Frame (2)

"Quickdraw" (41) - TIE/SF Fighter
Expertise (4), Fire Control System (2), Sensor Cluster (2), Special Ops Training (0), Shield Upgrade (4)

"Omega Leader" (29) - TIE/FO Fighter
Juke (2), Comm Relay (3), Stealth Device (3)

If you can get them to focus on Quickdraw, you can light them up pretty good with the other two, and have Omega Leader for the end game.

Like I said, it's mostly for fun, but QuickDraw can deal some major damage, especially if you can line up a range one attack with the rear arc, and use the title to get two shots off as much as possible.

Really love flying this list. All 8s and all the target locks. Pretty consistent in landing the ion cannon shots to control where the focused target is going.

H8FUL EIGHTS

Only been playing a couple months, maybe ten games, but I enjoy playing TIE swarms.

"Youngster" with Marksmanship (18)

3x TIE/ln Academy Pilots (36)

3x TIE /fo Epsilon Sqdn. Pilots (45)

It's basic, very simple. I'm using this list to practice maneuvering, blocking, area coverage, etc. Particularly, I'm working on limiting my opponents' access to the wider playing area, keeping them pushed back nearer to their deployment zones, and "scissoring" lone targets and tight formations. I've thought about switching "Youngster" out for Sabine's TIE ("Zeb"), which would bring the list to an even 100 points, but it'd spoil the Imperial theme.

Possible tournament list (100)

Kavil (29) - Y-Wing
Veteran Instincts (1), Dorsal Turret (3), Unhinged Astromech (1)

Palob Godalhi (37) - HWK-290
Opportunist (4), Blaster Turret (4), Recon Specialist (3), Moldy Crow (3), Stealth Device (3)

Trandoshan Slaver (34) - YV-666

Old tournament list updated.

Angry Aces (98)

Jan Ors (31) - HWK-290
A Score To Settle (0), Twin Laser Turret (6), "Chopper" (0)

Tycho Celchu (34) - A-Wing
Rage (1), Proton Rockets (3), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Experimental Interface (3), Veteran Instincts (1)

Jake Farrell (33) - A-Wing
Push The Limit (3), Proton Rockets (3), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Autothrusters (2), Veteran Instincts (1)

スペス ガン フアーランダ

Space Gun Farlander

I love B-wings and hard hitting alpha strikes, it's a fun list to play in casual games.

Opportunist (4)
Fire-Control System (2)
Finn (5)
B-Wing/E2 (1)

Jan Ors (25)

There is a version of this list with Miranda instead of Keyan that is doing well. But, this is still my favorite despite Keyan being far less robust than Miranda in competitive play.

Fave rebels;

Anything with A-wings. Tycho, Jake; both autothrusters, PTL and prockets.

Plus GSP outfitted with whatever points I have left.

Most fun you can have with your pants on in my humble opinion.

Fave Imperials:

Vader; VI, Engine and ATC

Inquisitor; Autothrusters, title and 'score to settle'

Major Stridan/Upsilon shuttle; systems officer, inspiring recruit & pattern analyser.

Fave Scum:

WIP. So many options/ships I really like...

Working on getting the hang of the m3a interceptor.

I enjoy any list with one or more protectorate starfighter(s) and Palob/Torkil are awesome. With added sauce.

I only have one at the moment but it's super fun. I actually bought it purely because it feels like something straight out of Rogue One (except the pilot names of course).

Just Poe (T70, BB8), Ello Asty (T70, Expertise), Cassian Andor (UWing, Jyn, Stealth Device, something else).

Really feels like an escort mission and all the stuff is from the couple of purchases I've made so far.

For my next one I feel like either a third T70 X-Wing or possibly a gaggle of A-Wings (being my favourite ever ship). That will give practice with formation flying and also some very simple synergies with giving out focus to use on missiles.

My all time favorite list, and I still use it now and then is;

Miranda, TLT, Adv Slam, Lando

2x Dagger B with AC and Hull upgrade

Simple, tanky and fun.

Omega Leader

Juke

Comms

Carnor Jax

PTL

Autothrusters

Zertik Strom

X1

Sensor Jammer

Dark Curse

Just all the NOPE in one list. Not that much offense but annoying to kill. Disclaimer: This list will lose you friends.

This list has a lot of fun to play and somewhat better than expected. I'm currently 3-0 with it.

Upsilon-class Shuttle: · Major Stridan (32)
Fire Control System (2)
Systems officer (2)
Operations Specialist (3)
· Kylo Ren's Shuttle (2)
Pattern Analyzer (2)

VT-49 Decimator: · Captain Oicunn (42)
Daredevil (3)
Engine Upgrade (4)
· BoShek (2)
Inspiring Recruit (1)
Weapons Engineer (3)
· Dauntless (2)

-- TOTAL ------- 100/100p. --

Snap + Juke A-wings. I placed third in a tournament over the weekend with:

Shara Bey:
M9-G8
Weapons Engineer
Veteran Instincts

2 x Green Squadron Pilots (21)
Snap Shot
Juke
A-wing Test Pilot
Chaardan Refit

2 x Blue Squadron Pilots (24)
Fire Control System

125 points all up (special lists)

I beat a Biggs + HLC B-wing swarm and triple Defenders+striker. I lost to Quad TLTs and absurdly good dice rolling from a X7 player. I still placed third. In 100 points, I'm building towards:

Green Squadron Pilot (21) x 3
A-Wing (19), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Chardaan Refit (-2), Juke (2), Snap Shot (2)

Green Squadron Pilot (19)
A-Wing (19), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Chardaan Refit (-2), Juke (2), A Score to Settle (0)

“Zeb” Orrelios (18)
Sabine's TIE Fighter (13), Sabine's Masterpiece (1), Inertial Dampeners (1), Operations Specialist (3)

The list has phenomenal action economy (3 actions per ship per turn if all goes well...) and can kill any and all high PS aces, even defenders. Zeb might seem fragile. It's just a pity that it requires 13 separate purchases to fly in a tournament. I'll get there...

I have been running with these for a while, trying to perfect them more and more. But i also started to try new things, as well.

Tie/SF - Quickdraw (29)

- Wired (1)

- Advanced Sensors (3)

- Lightweight Frame (2)

- Special Ops Training (0)

- Sensor Cluster (2)

Total: 37 points

Tie/FO - Omega Leader (21)

- Determination (1)

- Comm Relay (3)

Total: 25 points

Tie Defender - Colonel Vessary (35)

- Veteran Instincts (1)

- Flechette Cannon (2)

- Tie/D (0)

Total: 38 points.

It was fun getting to know the movements and it allowed me to improve my flying skills.

I am surprisingly 4-0 with

Asajj: PTL, Latts, shadowcaster, gyroscopic targeting

Old Teroch: fearlessness, concord dawn, autothrusters

Unkar Plutt: Ketsu onyo, spacetug tractor array, pattern analyzer, black market slicer tools.

Its surprising fun and effective to throw around all that stress and tractor beam tokens (that with luck don't go away thanks to Ketsu)

I've been tinkering with a similar build replacing Teroch with 4-Lom and upgrading Unkar to Sarco Plank. I have yet to test it though.

This list was a little something I thought up. It's been really effective and I took it to a tournament and it performed really well.

12 matches in and I'm 10-2. When the c roc comes out the mangler scyk will be sunny bounder.

Honestly, I really love flying my trip Kwing bomber list.

Warden: Advance Slam, Chopper, Extra Munitions, Cluster Bomb, Siesmic Charges

Warden: Advance Slam, Bombardier , Extra Munitions, Cluster Bomb, Siesmic Charges

Warden: Advance Slam, Sabine, Extra Munitions, Conner Net

It is super fun to fly.

Careless Whisper (97)

"Whisper" (41) - TIE Phantom
Veteran Instincts (1), Fire Control System (2), Agent Kallus (2), Advanced Cloaking Device (4)

Captain Oicunn (56) - VT-49 Decimator
Adaptability (decrease) (0), BoShek (2), Darth Vader (3), Rebel Captive (3), Dauntless (2), Engine Upgrade (4)

it helps to play careless whisper whenever whisper crashes too.

"I'm never gonna dance again..."

Girl Power

Rey - Finn, Kanan, Expertise, HoTR title, Smuggling Compartment, Burnout Slam

Norra - Title, PTL, Vectored Thursters, R2D2 + C3PO

I'm currently a big fan of:

Han Solo (46)

Expertise (4)

Gunner (5)

C3-PO (3)

Engne Upgrade (4)

Evade Title (1)

Jake Farrell (24)

Push The Limit (3)

VI (1)

Proton Rockets (3)

Title (0)

Autothrusters (2)

Comes in at 96 points so a good initiative bid and is a lot les draining than the usual 4 GSP builds that I've been running lately. More consistent damage output than the standard Fat Han but it is more susceptible to stress so need to be careful around Asajj.

Also loving HotR Poe, Jake and Ahsoka but struggle to keep Poe alive sometimes. Usual ends with Jake soloing for the win

I've been having a lot of fun with Ketsu/Bossk

Ketsu Onyo (38)
Push the Limit (3)
K4 Security Droid (3)
Engine Upgrade (4)
Shadow Caster (3)

THis packs a CRAZY alpha punch. Crazy. Like, fairly reliably dealing 12 hits in the opening engagement. 4 of them against -1 agi, the remaining 8 against -2 agi (OK, 7 is actually more likely, the 8th only comes if you roll a natural crit somewhere in your cluster missile shots). And it keeps punching the same the next round too as long as that alpha punch kills something.

It's super brutal.

And it has Determination to block the bane of low agi 2-ship lists, Kylo m-fing Ren, as well as to combo with Greedo for a better chance of discarding damage cards generally. There aren't THAT many non-pilot crits that REALLY impede Bossk a lot, especially when he wants to do greens to get his locks.

Probably the list I've had most fun with the whole time I've been playing is 2 Ion Mindlink Scyks and 2 mindlink title thrusters PS5 Fangs. When it goes right (i.e. primarily no stress control on the board) it's amazingly fun to play. K turn or t roll one ship, everyone else does greens, and you get this wonderful rolling melee that spirals round the board in an immensely satisfying way.

But even with the Heavy Scyk errata, it's just not tip top competitive, even if it were easy to fly for a long day's play - which it really isn't, it offers SO many opportunities to screw up.

You know that wouldn't be tournament legal (replacing with Zeb)? Zeb is a rebel pilot - you can't mix factions.

That said,

I love Dash - he's great fun; currently running mangler cannon dash with PTL R2-D2 Poe and it's amazing!

Because that range one double tap on a reduced agility ship...that's the most beautiful thing around.

I'm also a big fan of VI, Hotshot, Baze Malbus Cassian, with any other ship(s). It's super defensive, and also decently offensive. Big fan of it with standard Expertise Rey, or with two X-wings.

I have a Scum build I call "Three Nines Fine". Sci-fi junkies should recognise it.

Kavil, Adaptability, TLT, R3, Vectored Thrusters

Fenn Rau, Title, PTL, Autothrusters

Talonbane, Vectored Thrusters.

Kavil throwing 4 dice TLT attacks and being able to barrel roll is good. I've used the barrel roll to R1 attack with primary and to block. Not something you hear much about with a PS 9 pikot.

Fenn with PTL, boost and barrel roll is just bat crap crazy.

Talonbane is just Talonbane. He and Fenn like the "in your grill" attacks.
