They just announced this for Runewars:

Maybe an expansion featuring the Latari Elves?

Is it possible to put a sheet of cardboard for tiles in print on demand expansions?
It would be cool for them to transfer over the new hero characters they are introducing into RuneWars, Kari Wraithstalker and Maegan Cyndewin would be cool to have in Descent.
I'm going to hold out hope that we will see them bring in new monsters and the last 12 heroes from the conversion kit through in Hero and Monster packs. They have used Red Scorpion in the new Runebound expansions so it keeps me hoping they will still show up.
Best not announce a new version of Descent after ive just discovered it, pent a small fortune on it and spent ages painting minis!!!

Same applies for Eliam

Absolutely, I just noticed that a few hours ago, I hadn't seen that preview for the newer release for Runebound. But if they are using them there they surely will bring them to Descent (fingers crossed).
Hopefully they have just been focusing on the RtL app and we will see next boxes soon and we will know what direction it's headed.
If it's a reboot I'll be with the people who are avoiding buying it I think. (I say that now until the collector in me comes out and I have to have it all. **** him)
Usually, I would be someone like you, but I can't afford to go into a new so full game.
Seriously, there enough space to expand more. And if people don't buy them, I'm ready bo buy thoses expansions a bit more expansive than I would usually do. As long as there's no 3rd edition before some years.
I 1000% agree, I wouldn't be buying a new addition any time soon if that's their direction. I truely hope they stick to the 2nd edition for some time. With the app in place now the possibilities have opened up for my gaming group. None of us are ruthless as the overlord and the heroes always end up getting it slack so it's nice to have the app to make it so we can all be heroes together. I have faith that they will expand it more, they would be silly not to.
I'd love to see them bring in the Sea of Blood back into it and make it so that expansion was both usable in classic overloads fashion and bring ocean adventure into the app. Adventure on the high seas would be awesome!
I'm personnaly not so fond of this app, since I love to play the Overlord, and because heroes classes are not so fun to play with.
But expansions may change this if they are willing to do some more !
I guess we can take solace in the fact that every Descent product that is currently listed as "out of stock" is listed in the upcoming lists under "awaiting reprint" or "at the printer" other than the Belthir and Valyndra lieutenant packs. So it must be selling well or they wouldn't be reprinting. Hopefully that's a sign that we will see more content soon.
Selling well and creating expansions are separated things.
In the theory that the app brought back people on the game, the newcomers may feel overwhelmed by the many expansions the game has already, and the money it needs to buy it all. So, maybe we won't see more, even if i wish there will be many many more !

Doesn't seem like it makes much sense for them to produce a second version of the core box as well as a widely successful app only to can it almost immediately. Seems to me like V3 has already come out in the form of road to legend, it just remains to be seen how long they will support both versions of the game.
In some regards there seems little point in a Descent 3 while the 2nd edition is still doing well via the app. However there are two things that i think may push them to do another version eventually.
Eventually FFG will decide to re-launch - that is how profits are made, but maybe Runewars will be a distraction for a while yet and with reprints are being done now nothing will happen until 2018 at the earliest id say and more likely 2019 with Descent 2nd still selling.
FFG are also getting new sales on existing expansions with every new app campaign (i would love to see the sales spike on Nerekhall to know for sure) so an undead one using Bilehall and Chains seems highly likely to me.

I bought everything, all of it, from starting last December. So after such an investment I wouldn't buy a third edition at all, I have so much to play at already.
But any and all expansions for 2nd ed I will buy to keep the collection complete.

Exactly, I have years of content to go at so a 3rd ed holds nothing for me. But expansions add options to what I have so I would/will buy every single one they release for 2nd ed.
Similarly I will buy anything they release for the app too.
Edited by alexbobspoonsI truly hope it is not the end for Descent Second Edition expansions. With Road to Legend Descent became the perfect fit for my 4 player ex-RPG group. None of us have the time for a true RPG anymore as we are all in our forties and we don't have the fifth player for regular Descent play.
While I really like Imperial Assault and Mansions of Madness I feel fantasy offers the most variety mini wise. As someone with no interest or time to paint the minis there are only so many similar humans and droids you can distinguish between ?
I check the fantasy flight website regularly and its seems for months now that the company has only been targeting xwing, armada and runewars. It is sad to see, they seem to have completely abandoned a lot of other mainstay games. None of my friends collect or paint minis and with the 4 player group, those games are not ones I will never pick up.
I by contrast own everything for Descent Second Edition and would insta-buy any new physical expansion or Road To Legend app content. It still feels like there are a lack of classes for some of the archetypes and there are definitely hybrid permutations still outstanding. Plus it felt like Road to Legend opened the door for more amazing stuff to come and then they left us hanging!
Here is hoping FFG take note of this thread and give us more content ?
Edited by KammaKhaziAgree with most of the others here. It's annoying to still have a handful of 1st edition minis for the characters. Different characters with different classes can make playing even the same scenario interesting. I realize that there's only so much time to devote to a large collection of games but, right now, D2E feels incomplete despite all the stuff released for it.
We just got expansions announced for runebound and runewars for the uthuk y'llan.
When undead were announced they came to battlelore, descent and runebound at the same time. Maybe we'll see a similar wave of releases and have a descent expansion announced this week.

Positive mental attitude. Next you'll be telling me I won't be getting my battlelore elves.
Positive attitudes are great things. That being said, if I were an 8-ball, I'd be reading "outlook bad."
If I see anything announced for Descent, I'll call it a pleasant surprise. Until then, I'm not getting my hopes up.

Beeing positive is a good a thing, but not surrealistic
Nah I think they are done with us.

I'm counting the RPG announcement from yesterday as terrinoth news because you know there will be a setting book on the way.
