Haha not even gonna argue that but they did drop a massive nerf on dengaroo so I feel like I can at least say most of my salt over the last 8 months is now some what justified. I also had to play parattanni 6 out of the last 9 freaking games at endor and did no complaining about that so I think I deserve a little credit for that too :D. I've never claimed that anything I say has any kind of real substance to it at all either so just ignore my ass if my attitude is wearing.

More of a joke than anything Blair :P , plus you still crush the overpowered lists with jank lol. IPhone emoji might not had come across haha. There are certain people who look forward to hearing from on podcasts the most, you, Dallas, and Paul.

Blair you are the man and more than welcome to keep preaching

How did you defeat that Blair?

I think a lot of it is what a previous poster had mentioned about the long season. There has been no break like normal and it is starting to touch some nerves. Overall I think the FAQ will help too. Opens things up a lot.

blairbunke's complaining never bothered me, because it was more just old-fashioned griping, which happens all the time. What started getting annoying was the despair that kept creeping into people's rants. I feel like you can't keep working with Rebel efficiency swarms I'd you're not optimistic and confident, and I respect that.

It's really hard to specify without dumping the bucket.

If it's me, feel free to dump the bucket! I wear big boy pants, and will take constructive criticism seriously.

Negative.

Y'all are in a dead even tie in my 1st place.

I would point out that I always sound this way :P

And my flight decks are short ;)

Directed at the OP, I obviously can't speak for all podcasts BUT (going on to speak for all podcasts) I know that constructive criticism and discord between Listeners and hosts is mostly a good thing.
I would either just post your full complaints here or one the relevant Podcasts Facebook page.

Kris

P.S.
NOVA is back on scheduled now and we are back to recording every two weeks and I keep hassling Ed to trim people Flight Decks and keep us all in line :D

But Kris... the 3 hour flight deck IS one of my fave features of Nova (that and the Parody that S&V did..... ;) ) Major Jugglers photographic memory really puts me in the room..... watching, as I would have gone out in the cut.....

I've been following Nova since Ep 0, the same with the other two casts I routinely follow (S & V and Kessel Run). We've all been playing the game for coming up on 5 years, the meta has gone through some massive upheavals lately, combined with the Tournament season shift from FFG if the community is honest there is a little fatigue for everyone. The most recent meta being the one of those "moments", I am really looking forward to hearing how the next regionals and the Tatooine Open is going in Spain and what their meta looks like and what we can expect going forwards.

Keep up the good work and remember, how you pronounce English is entirely up to the bit you come from..... Channel Islands ftw. :P

Hah, I'm actually a little disappointed that I'm not crushing this competition LOL. You're complaining about us complaining, so if you open the bucket of worms, but don't dump the bucket, that kind of leaves us twisting in the wind.

Speaking just for myself:

1) I can spend countless hours praising X-Wing and digging into the game (Art of X-Wing episodes in particular), but if I share concerns, suddenly I'm a negative Nancy who complains non-stop.

2) It's not burnout. If anything, I'm disconsolate that I wasn't able to participate more in the recently wrapped Regionals season.

3) Life's tough for me right now, but that's only increasing the importance of my love of X-Wing in my personal life. I treasure my weekly FGS X-Wing night to help me crack some smiles and laughs with people I value.

4) The FAQ definitely helped a ton. I've have been railing at Zuckuss and Palp for a VERY long time. Defenders nerf is fine-ish. Manaroo was harsh, but understandable. (I just wish they had removed her ability to pass red locks; I've long felt that the biggest problem was how hard it is to burn her down.) TLT continues to be an issue. Overall, though? The changes are by and large beneficial to the game and that definitely improves my morale. Thank you FFG.

5) The game does have problems. I personally dislike Combo-Wing. This is a subjective judgment, but I do think I should share those concerns. The trend toward Attack-Wing is alarming, and this is an objective judgment. Math bears it out, but you really don't even need advanced metrics or analytics to come to this conclusion (I just had a full health Palp shuttle PS killed by 2 enemy ship combat activations). I believe that it would be a disservice for me to bury my head in the sand and pretend that this issue doesn't exist.

6) I *hope* most people can tell that I *LOVE* this game. It's not like I've spent 4 figures in product, more in travel, hours obsessing over theory/strategy/tactics, and triple digit hours talking about it in podcast form (only God knows how many if you include non-recorded conversations) because I feel negatively about X-Wing. It's instead because of the fact that X-Wing is so phenomenally great, that it makes any problems stand out more starkly. It's my enthusiasm for the game that makes me so passionate about it; and *sometimes* it's going to be negative.

Dee is awesome, and even though he's been having a rough time he is my favorite podcast personality right now. his "filthy casual" lists are inspiring too! I would like to see them do a whole episode on "fifthly casual" lists

I like Dee, too. He is my favorite.

You know, all our episodes at Shuttle Tydirium are about "filthy casual" stuff. We have a regular segment called B-teams (as opposed to the A-team) where we talk about fun ideas for lists. Biophysical just submitted one we used as well as another one I grabbed off the forums.

I agree, Berto is hillarious. I actually really like the Slingpaint youtube series. Nymz seems pretty disconnected lately, and I honestly don't mind that. Do they do stuff in podcast format? I normally listen when I'm lying down relaxing going to sleep and don't like how crazy hot my phone gets running youtube videos all night when I eventually fall asleep!

Berto is a great guy. He's a local to me. I will tell you that they have no plans to enter into podcasting. It usually costs money to get into it and they are all set up on YouTube. You could always probably convert their video into mp3 format and listen to it that way. There are a lot of websites that will do that for you.

I blame it on FFG's changes to Regionals and Worlds. I think that having the first of this year's Regionals happen just a week or so after last year's worlds has really taken its toll. In the past, hardcore competitive players had what almost amounted to a tournament season. Outside of that season they could play more relaxed games and goof around with stuff that was fun to play but not really competitively viable.

The extended tournament season that we are in the middle of right now has a trickle down effect to even players that wouldn't consider themselves hardcore tournament players. Tournament players are looking to maximize their playing time with the squads that they are wanting to run competitively. Because they're bringing their tier one squad to the shop to get practice rounds in the people that they are playing kind of need to bring efficient effective squads as well. This makes the pool of players available to play a game for lols with whatever jank they think might be fun much smaller.

This 10000000%

I am not going to worlds so I cannot tell you how nice it is that my season is effectively over until whenever we get a Store champ locally. I am going to help others prep but that means I get to run all kinds of stuff instead of one list.

It's that noticeable huh? lol We have changed the way we were recording and I have had to step back to focus more on family. I was also practicing for the last Regional here in Raleigh so I spent less time chatting.

Berto enjoys all aspects of this game, I lean more to the competitive side, and Blake is an awesome knowledge base and overall great Mix of all sides of Xwing - that guy just loves to play the game, no matter what style.

Like Chadwick said, I don't believe we plan to do any podcastings.. But Berto could change that lol. Thanks for the support though, it truly means a lot to us! Should we take you listening us to go to sleep as... we bore you so much we put you to sleep? Or we are the last thing you hear in the real world which makes you dream about us.... Things to ponder I guess. =)

If you guys watch Berto on the SlingPaint youtube channel, that guy is the best. He loves every ship on the table and just has fun flying anything. Even when he is getting his butt kicked, he is like "****, your ship is so awesome. That thing is sweet. Look at it, it's a beautfiul beast just tearing apart my forces."

Hey all it's berto from SlingPaint,

Thanks for all the great feedback, Like what Nymz stated in the post above, we are just trying different things, and adjusting to our lives outside of games, we both have families, and full-time jobs outside of this. crazy worlds we are in!!!

Love the feedback, always makes me love what we do!

lol. It's noticeable because I've been following you guys for a while. I understand the family thing, 2016 was much of the same for me and I had to put a lot of things on hold in my life. Got to take care of whats important first, Xwing is a hobby and will be there when we get back.

I only get to listen to podcasts at the end of the night when relaxing before bed because I don't got an aux-in or bluetooth audio in my car. It's the only time I can really concentrate on whats being said. but I usually pass out after 30 minutes.
