Hey everyone,
I will be running a Force & Destiny campaign soon, and myself and several of the other players are huge fans of SWTOR. To that end, I would like to integrate a few Old Republic era touches into a campaign centered around survival at first and eventually around trying to bring back some new version of the Jedi Order.
To that end I've come up with the idea of having the party recover a Defender Class Light Corvette as a sort of mobile base of operations as well as providing training and information (once proper passwords are found...a ready source of sidequests). Getting the ship up to modern era standards will also give one of the players who is in love with artisan and the manipulate force power (imagine Firefly's Kaylee as a force user) something to really sink her time and efforts into. The question is what exactly should this thing look like once it's fully operational? A ship this size could easily run roughshod over most space encounters that won't blow it away outright, and it's easy enough to say that it won't be super capable since it's 3000 years old.
I'm thinking of taking a Gozanti as a starting point, making it speed 3 and handling -1 and dropping its strain and hull a bit (particularly strain to show its age). Also drop the encumberance and increase consumables.
Main hyperdrive will need to be replaced, so that's up to the PCs. It will only have a class 12 backup when they find it. Weapons will likewise be nonfunctional and up to the PCs to replace.
Does this seem like a good place to start? Anyone else put their players in a Defender Corvette and have some tips?
